A system, a method, and a computer program product may be provided for user guidance. In an example, the system includes an image projection device configured to project traffic patterns on a surface, at least one non-transitory memory configured to store computer program code, and a processor configured to execute the computer program code to control operation of the image projection device. For example, sensor data from one or more sensors onboard a vehicle is obtained. The sensor data is associated with a state of operation of the vehicle, and proximate movement associated with the vehicle. Based on the sensor data, one or more traffic patterns for projection is determined. Further, an image projection device is controlled to project the one or more traffic patterns in one or more direction of the vehicle.

System and method for roadway user safety

A solution for noncontact optical torque measurement of a rotating component is provided. At least one imaging system acquires images of a rotating component. A torque computing unit determines the torque of the rotating component using the images. The torque computing unit can compare the acquired images to previously collected expected images obtained under a known torque condition. The torque computing unit determines the torque of the rotating component based on variations between the acquired images and the collected expected images.

Noncontact optical torque measurement of rotating component

An assembly for monitoring an area is provided. The assembly can include two or more cameras sensitive to radiation of distinct wavelength ranges. The fields of view of the cameras can be substantially co-registered at the area to be monitored. The assembly can include a computer system which can process the image data to monitor the area. The computer system can be configured to identify relevant objects present in the area, update tracking information for the relevant objects, and evaluate whether an alert condition is present using the tracking information.

Operations monitoring in an area

A solution for acquiring pressure data for an object, such as an airfoil, is provided. One or more pressure sensor nodes are utilized, each of which includes a set of pressure sensors and a processing component. The pressure sensor node(s) are affixed to the object in a manner that enables the pressure sensors to acquire pressure data for a set of locations on the surface of the object. A pressure sensor node also can include a wireless communications component to provide wireless communications between the pressure sensor node and a computer system.

Pressure profiling system

A solution including a noncontact electronic measurement device is provided. The measurement device includes one or more imaging devices configured to acquire image data of a surface of an object located in a measurement region relative to the measurement device and one or more projected pattern generators configured to generate divergent pattern(s) of structured light, which impact the surface of the object within a field of view of the imaging device when the object is located in the measurement region. Using image data acquired by the imaging device(s), a computer system can measure a set of attributes of the surface of the object and/or automatically determine whether the measurement device is within the measurement region. An embodiment is configured to be held by a human user during operation.

Noncontact measuring device

A solution for communicating between devices located within and outside of an effective Faraday cage volume is provided. An enclosure structure forming the effective Faraday cage volume can be used as an antenna for a transceiver of a wireless device located within the Faraday cage volume. An antenna connector of a transceiver of the wireless device can be physically connected to the conductive material of the enclosure structure using any solution. The enclosure structure can transmit wireless signals generated by the wireless device external of the enclosure structure and/or transmit external wireless signals to the transceiver of the wireless device for processing by the device.

Wireless transmission through faraday cage enclosure

A solution for evaluating an object using physical three-dimensional locations of the various points on the object derived from image data concurrently acquired by two or more cameras (e.g., stereo image data) is provided. Image data concurrently acquired by at least two cameras at each of multiple instants is processed to identify one or more points of an object visible in the image data. A physical three-dimensional location of each such point can be calculated at each instant using the corresponding image data. Additionally, a physical three-dimensional location of one or more points of the object visible only in the image data acquired by one camera can be calculated for each of the three different instants using the image data in which the corresponding point is visible and the physical three-dimensional location of one or more of the points visible in the image data acquired by at least two cameras.

Enhanced stereo imaging-based metrology

A solution for navigating a vehicle is provided. The vehicle is navigated from a start location to a target location using a set of linear paths. A current linear path is identified between a current location of the vehicle and the target location. At least a portion of the current linear path is evaluated for a presence of an obstacle. In response to no obstacle being present along the current linear path, the vehicle is instructed to travel along the current linear path to the target location. In response to an obstacle being present, the vehicle is instructed to travel along a different linear path from the current location to an intermediate location, which is selected based on an extent of the obstacle and the current linear path. The process can be repeated until the vehicle arrives at the target location.

Straight line path planning

A solution for harvesting energy from motion resulting from operation of an object, such as a vehicle, is provided. The motion can comprise low-frequency motion. The solution can include at least one magnet, at least one coil, a magnet supporting structure, a coil supporting structure, and a design component which provides a restoring force to at least one of: the magnet supporting structure or the coil supporting structure so as to ensure relative motion between the magnet(s) and coil(s). The relative motion of the magnet(s) and coil(s) generate energy which can be harvested for wireless monitoring or other purposes.

Energy harvesting

A sensor node for use in a sensor system includes a core component a sensor component and a power component. The core component includes processing and transmission/receiving components. Additionally, the core component includes interfaces for selectively connecting sensor and power components of any one of a plurality of types. In this manner, the core component enables the corresponding power and sensor components to be matched according to a particular application to generate the desired sensor node.

Modular sensor node and communications system

An improved solution for performing an inspection is provided, in which a user can use a handheld computing device to obtain and/or record the set of attributes required for the inspection. In particular, an inspection schedule can be initiated on the handheld computing device and the user can be prompted for the various attributes based on the inspection schedule. Various solutions can be incorporated for receiving the attributes on the handheld computing device, including manual entry, audible entry and/or one or more data sensing devices. Subsequently, the set of attributes can be communicated to a base station for further processing and/or more permanent storage.

Inspection method, system, and program product

A solution for monitoring a property of an object and/or an area using a Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS)-based monitoring device is provided. In an embodiment of the invention, the MEMS-based monitoring device includes a MEMS-based sensing device for obtaining data based on a property of the object and/or area and a power generation device that generates power from an ambient condition of the monitoring device. In this manner, the monitoring device can operate independent of any outside power sources or other devices. Further, the monitoring device can include a transmitter that transmits a signal based on the property. The monitoring device can be used to monitor a moving component of a machine, and can be integrated with a health monitoring system of the machine using one or more relay devices.
