An air conditioner includes an air flow path configured to direct an air flow in a direction. The air conditioner also includes an evaporative cooling membrane panel disposed within the air flow path and including a face disposed at an oblique angle relative to the direction. The face is defined by microporous fibers of the evaporative cooling membrane panel. Each microporous fiber is configured to receive liquid in a fluid flow path of the microporous fiber such that the air flow over the microporous fiber generates a vapor. Each microporous fiber is also configured to release the vapor into the air flow via pores of the microporous fiber.

Membrane-contactor-based air conditioner

The present invention relates in general to a compact air handling system to supply conditioned air to a space including but not limited to, building rooms and data center server space. The present invention relates to the design and layout of the system for air handling unit system applications.

A manufactured data center (MDC) uses construction systems and methods allowing the MDC unit to serve as a drop-in replacement for a traditional brick-and-mortar computer data center, while providing functional and operational advantages over known modular data centers. The MDC comprises 'white space' housing supported equipment such as servers and other heat-producing computing equipment, plus a power center incorporating electrical equipment and infrastructure necessary for operation of the supported equipment, including an HVAC system which may comprise a purpose-built computer room air conditioning (CRAC) unit.

Manufactured data center

The invention pertains to a filter retaining assembly which is rigid and self-supportive without requiring any additional structural reinforcement. The design maximizes the filter surface to be used for air filtration and increases the filtration efficiency. The invention is also designed to minimize the filter assembly size to fit into the valuable space when the air handling unit physical dimension is constrained. The invention uses integral construction methods to save assembly time and labor by eliminating the need of using alignment holes and fastening each individual frame to construct a conventional filter retaining assembly. The proposed method maintains flexibility of scaling to any filter size and quantity.

The present invention relates in general to an Integrated High Density Server Vault (or 'HDSV') system containing the necessary mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the installation, operation and cooling of heat generating data processing equipment within a scalable manufactured environment which includes, but is not limited to, computing and electrical equipment. An enclosed air conditioning unit includes a filter section and a cooling section through which intake air passes before being discharged into a space within a building. The orientation of the filter section and cooling section is substantially vertical, and the airflow path through the filter section and the cooling section is substantially horizontal, resulting in reduced face velocities across these components, thereby increasing filtration efficiency and cooling effectiveness, while allowing the physical size and configuration of the air conditioning unit's enclosure to be the same as or smaller than the enclosures for conventional air conditioning units having comparable or lower performance.
