Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to an implantable medical device including a housing containing components therein configured for delivering neurostimulation therapy, and an anchoring feature included with the housing. The implantable medical device also includes a lead having an electrode. In one aspect, the implantable medical device may include a guidewire passageway configured to allow the lead of implantable medical device to be introduced over a guidewire.

Minimally invasive neurostimulation device

A cranial implant may include an interior guide portion, an exterior guide portion, and one or more flanges. In one example, the interior guide portion may be disposed in a burr hole of a cranium and include a distal end, a proximal end, an inner surface, and an outer surface. The distal end may be inserted further into the burr hole than the proximal end. The inner surface may at least partially define a channel that accepts an elongated member, and the outer surface may extend around the full circumference of the burr hole. The exterior guide portion may be coupled to the interior guide portion and may contact an external surface of the cranium. The interior guide portion may define one or more surface features configured to secure the interior guide portion to the burr hole or secure an elongated member within the channel of the cranial implant.

In some examples, a fixation device includes a flexible band with a first base portion, a second base portion, and a connecting strap connecting the first base portion to the second base portion, the connecting strap configured to retain a medical device to an anatomical structure of a patient, wherein the flexible band is constructed of a first material. The fixation device may further include a plurality of inserts, each insert of the plurality of inserts defining an inner channel and constructed of a second material more rigid than the first material of the flexible band, wherein a first insert of the plurality of inserts is at least partially within the first base portion, and wherein a second insert of the plurality of inserts is at least partially within the second base portion.

In some embodiments, a method includes a shaft having a side catheter guide attached thereto via a guide coupler into an inferior vena cava and a superior vena cava such that the guide coupler is disposed in a right atrium, and applying a distal force to a proximal portion of the side catheter guide such that a distal end of the side catheter guide deflects laterally about the guide coupler towards a septum. The method further includes extending a side catheter that is disposed within the side catheter guide distally from the side catheter guide towards and into contact with the septum. The method further includes, with the side catheter in contact with the septum, extending a septum penetrator that is slidably disposed within the side catheter distally from the side catheter such that the septum penetrator pierces the septum.

Apparatus and method for septal punch

Pre-molded cylindrical sub-assemblies for inclusion in an implantable medical lead are described. The pre-molded cylindrical sub-assemblies comprise a cylindrical conductive element formed from a conductive material to define a substantially continuous interior surface and a substantially continuous exterior surface, and an insulative element formed from an insulative material molded onto the interior surface of the cylindrical conductive element. An interior surface of the insulative element defines a lumen of the pre-molded cylindrical sub-assembly configured to receive one or more elongated conductors of the implantable medical lead, and the cylindrical conductive element is configured to be electrically connected to one of the elongated conductors with the elongated conductors within the lumen. The cylindrical conductive element may act as an electrode, e.g., on a distal portion of the lead, or a connector, e.g., on a proximal portion of the lead.

A load-carrying body for reducing torsional and tensile loading on electrical components in an implantable medical electrical lead includes an electronic component disposed in-line with the implantable medical electrical lead, and a casing for the electronic component. The electronic component has a proximal end conductively coupled to a lead conductor and a distal end conductively coupled to a lead electrode. The casing is mechanically coupled to the lead so as to isolate the electrical component from torque or tensile loads applied to the lead, the lead electrode, or both.

A fixation mechanism coupled to an implantable device body extends from a proximal portion of the body to a distal portion of the body and includes a fixation element and a push tube segment. A push tube segment of the mechanism extends proximally from the fixation mechanism to the proximal portion of the body and is adapted to deploy the mechanism.

The medical lead delivery device more easily and quickly delivers a lead to or through the coronary vein of a patient's heart. The medical lead delivery device includes an elongated body, a controller, a first and second spring, and a sleeve. The elongated body includes a proximal end and a distal end. The controller is disposed at the proximal end and provides enhanced control of the distal tip of the elongated body.

A lead body adapted for in-vivo implantation in a living subject includes a proximal end configured for electrical and mechanical connection to a therapy or a monitoring device, and a distal end. A collar is disposed at the distal end of the lead body, and a casing is disposed within the collar and is translatable along a central longitudinal axis of the collar. At least one electrical conductor extends substantially the length of the lead body, and an electronic component is disposed within the casing and conductively coupled to the electrical conductor. An electrode is mechanically connected to the casing and conductively coupled to the electronic component. A seal is disposed between the casing assembly and the collar to prevent passage of ionic fluid into the lead body through its distal end.

A medical electrical lead includes a canted lead body distal portion extending from an approximately straight lead body proximal portion; the canted distal portion includes an approximately straight segment and a hump-like segment extending from a first end, in proximity to the approximately straight segment, to a second end. The lead further includes a first electrode coupled to the approximately straight segment of the distal portion and a second electrode coupled to the distal portion in proximity to a second end of the hump-like segment.
