Systems and methods for providing multichannel video programming or content through a terrestrial fiber network of a telecommunications network. One or more high-quality content feeds may be provided to one or more replicator devices of the telecommunications network over a communication line. The replicator devices of the network then deliver one or more replicated content streams generated from the content feeds to any number of customers or receivers of the content also connected to the network. The replicators may be configured to, among other things, provide content streams according to a specific schedule, provide alternative content streams for particular customers or in response to particular events, or operate in conjunction with data analyzers for assessing the quality of the content stream or the reliability of the telecommunications network.

Linear channel distribution of content in a telecommunications network

Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for implementing a high-quality Video over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network accessible through a public network, such as the Internet. More particularly, a user of a telecommunication network may access the VoIP through an Internet connection or other public network connection and is then connected to a virtual local loop for transmission across the VoIP. As such, the public network may act as an egress and/or ingress to the VoIP allowing users with public network connectivity access to the network. Thus, a virtual local loop providing the desired services and quality from the telecommunications network may be created for a user of the network, without the need of the user to directly connect into the VoIP.

An embodiment of a method includes receiving a subscription request specifying one or more destination sites to receive a video feed and respective times at which to deliver the video feed to each of the one or more destination sites over a terrestrial network, wherein respective delivery times are within a publication time range in which the video feed will be available, and configuring available resources to deliver the requested video feed to the one or more destination sites at the respective times.

A system for the end-to-end delivery of digital television signals. In a preferred embodiment a digital television signal is: received from production equipment, typically in HD format at approximately 1.4 gigabits per second (Gbps); the received signal is transmitted to a venue point-of-presence; converted for transmission via a 270 Mbps local loop; transmitted to a fiber network point of presence/video service edge; packetized into TCP/IP packets in a video gateway; and routed to one or more destination addresses via the fiber network; received at one or more video service edge destinations; converted to a digital television format, typically SDI; and either transmitted via a second 270 Mbps local loop for delivery to a customer site and subsequent conversion to a 1.4 Gbps HD signal, or converted directly to a 1.4 Gbs HD signal at the receiving video service edge.
