The present invention relates to a split bed with improved characteristics, and in particular to a split bed with joinable sections including a connector used to join two pieces of a drive assembly, that has tab and slots to accommodate accessory devices and that is easily movable by one person. In one embodiment, the bed has a deck with several slotted tabs for receiving accessory devices. Two joinable sections are provided. The sections can be joined with six points of contact. A two part drive assembly is also provided. A pivotal connector is provided for joining the two parts of the drive assembly. The drive assembly moves cross members relative, and preferably within, longitudinal support members. In this regard, movement of the cross members causes the bed to selectably raise or lower. The bed is compactable to a very low height for shipping.

Split bed with improved characteristics

An apparatus and method is disclosed for sealing in a single package bundles of product cartons which are conveyed in series along a moving conveyor belt. A stationary frame is aligned with the conveyor, and a movable carriage assembly is connected to the frame. Packages or cartons of product are stacked and bundled by film, such as thermoplastic film, in a series of sealing steps. The apparatus includes at least one motor mounted on the stationary frame and capable of engaging the carriage assembly to facilitate reciprocating movement of the carriage assembly in relation to the moving packages. A separate computer controlled servo motor drives the opening and closing of seal bars on the carriage assembly to seal the film at each end of the package.

Method and apparatus for sealing packages

An attachment member for attaching to a roller chain tab includes a body member with a cavity defined in a bottom end thereof. This cavity has dimensions corresponding essentially to a tab provided on a roller chain link plate. The cavity is defined by a back wall, sides, and a front wall, and further includes a protuberance that extends from the back wall into the cavity towards the front wall. This protuberance has a shape so as to fit into a hole defined in the tabs provided on the roller chain link plates upon the body member being slid onto the tab.
