A medical device that may include a main body and a plurality of hooks. The main body includes a length extending along an axis between first and second ends. The main body may be deformable such that the axis forms an arch shape corresponding to a shape of a mandibular jaw or a maxillary jaw. The main body may include a plurality of sections each having first and second edges defining a first width and a plurality of openings disposed between the first and second edges and extending through a thickness of the main body. The main body may include a plurality of recessed portions defining a second width disposed between adjacent ones of the sections. Each of the hooks may extend from a corresponding one of the sections.

Contourable plate

Disclosed is a compound bone plate for attaching a bone flap to a skull. The compound bone plate can include a first plate member, a second plate member, a burr hole cover, and a strut. The first plate member can be operable to be attached to the bone flap and the skull. The second plate member can be operable to be attached to the bone flap and the skull. The strut can connect the first plate member, the second plate member, and the burr hole cover.

Compound plate for craniotomy closures

An implant assembly for a human sternum and ribs can include a sternal implant and a rib link. The sternal implant can be couplable to a sternum. The rib link can include a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a strut. The distal portion can be couplable to a rib. The proximal portion can be couplable to the sternal implant. The strut can connect the distal portion to the proximal portion. The strut can be configured to flex so that the distal portion can be aligned with the rib.

A fastener cartridge can be used with a shaft of a tool during an orthopedic procedure. The fastener cartridge can have a main housing that can be attached to fastener housing including a fastener chamber and a backstop component. The fastener chamber includes a plurality of non-flexible tabs and the backstop component includes a plurality of resiliently flexible tabs. The fastener housing is configured to include a plurality of fasteners that are arranged therein such that the longitudinal axes of the fastener chamber and the plurality of fasteners are collinear. The plurality non-flexible tabs prevent one of the fasteners from inadvertently passing entirely out of an outlet of the fastener chamber and the plurality of resiliently flexible tabs allow the fasteners to move axially in the first direction and restrict movement of the fasteners in a second direction opposite the first direction.

An end effector coupler for a surgical arm can include a body, a proximal coupler, and a tool lock. The tool lock can releasably retain a tool stem to the end effector coupler. The tool lock can include a keyed opening, a pin bore, a pin disposed in the bin bore, a biasing element located in the pin bore, and a pin release including an actuator, the pin release operable to retract the pin into to the body to disengage the pin from the tool stem allowing release of the tool stem from the keyed opening.

End effector coupler for surgical arm

A surgical device of a drill/driver with bit recognition to set a desired application mode and a method of utilization thereof is provided. Various operating modes of the drill/driver are automatically set by a sensor which recognizes the bit applied to the drill/driver. A method of utilizing the drill/driver allows the drill driver to apply surgical screws at very high speeds while automatically preventing excessive torque levels that would strip out the surgical screw from the patient's bone.

An end effector coupler for a surgical arm can include an end effector body, a proximal coupler, and a tool lock. The tool lock can releasably retain a tool stem to the end effector coupler. Systems and methods are disclosed herein. According to one example, the method can comprise imaging a target location of an anatomy of a patient to collect image data regarding at least one of a bone size, a bone orientation and a bone shape of the patient, displaying based upon the collected image data one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient, and determining one or more of a size, a shape and an orientation for at least one bone graft based at least in part upon the one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient. The method can convert the one or more patient-specific characteristics of the anatomy of the patient to a setting for a cutting instrument.

Virtual surgery planning system and method

A closure system may secure a first bone portion to a second bone portion. The closure system may include a band, a locking terminal, and a tensioning device. The band may be adapted to be looped around the first and second bone portions. The locking terminal may fixedly engage a first portion of the band and selectively fixedly engage a second portion of the band. The tensioning device may include a body and a threaded rod. The threaded rod may be received in the body and may engage the band such that movement of the threaded rod relative to the body moves the second portion of the band relative to the first portion of the band.

Sternal closure cerclage, plate implant and instrumentation

A closure system may secure a first bone portion to a second bone portion. The closure system may include a bracket, a band and a tensioning device. The bracket may include a first portion adapted to engage the first bone portion and a second portion adapted to engage the second bone portion. The band may engage the bracket and may be adapted to be looped around the first and second bone portions. The tensioning device may include a body and a threaded member. The threaded member may be received in the body and may engage the band such that rotation of the threaded member relative to the body moves a first end of the band relative to a second end of the band.
