According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for a first terminal device. The apparatus is configured to perform the following. The apparatus transmits () a first uplink reference signal at a first transmission time instance measured according to a local reference clock of the first terminal device. The apparatus applies () a frequency shift to a frequency of the local reference clock at a frequency-shift time instance measured according to the local reference clock and following the first transmission time instance. Based on the first transmission time instance, a second transmission time instance for an upcoming transmission of a second uplink reference signal, the frequency shift and the frequency-shift time instance, the apparatus calculates () a shift of transmission timing for the upcoming transmission. The apparatus applies () the shift of transmission timing to the second transmission time instance and thereafter transmits () the second uplink reference signal at the second time instance.

Frequency reference adjustment compensation for positioning

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media for positioning based on a plurality of measurement reports. In example embodiments, a first device performs measurement of a first subset of positioning reference signals (PRSs) from a set of PRSs. Based on the measurement of the first subset of PRSs, the first device generates a measurement report and sends the measurement report to a second device along with a report indication that the measurement report is generated based on measurement of a subset of PRSs from the set of PRSs. In this way, the measurement report latency may be reduced significantly.

Positioning based on multiple measurement reports

A method can include transmitting, by a wireless device, a capability message comprising a field indicating a time gap of the wireless device to complete a procedure of layer 1 or layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM). The method can also include receiving, in a time interval, a medium access control control element (MAC CE) indicating cell switch to a candidate cell of LTM. The method can further include transmitting, via the candidate cell and a time resource, an uplink transmission, wherein the time resource is after the time gap plus an offset from the time interval.

Disclosed are embodiments of methods and apparatuses for positioning user equipment (UE). A method for positioning UE may comprise calculating expected receiving time differences between respective expected times for the UE to receive positioning reference signals (PRSs) from a plurality of neighbor base stations respectively and an expected time for the UE to receive a PRS from a reference base station, determining a PRS timing offset to at least partially compensate for the expected receiving time difference of at least one of the plurality of neighbor base stations, and sending the PRS timing offset to the at least one of the plurality of neighbor base stations.

An apparatus may include circuitry configured for providing first data indicative of a first relative angle-of-arrival measurement between a first base station and a second base station, from the position of a user device, based on angle-of-arrival measurements. The apparatus may also include circuitry configured for providing second data indicative of first and second angle-of-departure measurements, each measurement indicative of an angle between the user device and the other base station of the first set of base stations from the position of the respective first and second base stations based on a plurality of beams transmitted from the respective base station to the user device. The apparatus may also include circuitry configured for determining a beam directionality error associated with at least one of the first and second base stations based on the first relative angle-of-arrival measurement and the first and second angle-of-departure measurements.

Various example embodiments relate to provision of a positioning time gap in a paging procedure. An apparatus may obtain positioning capability information of a device. The positioning capability information may comprise an indication of a first time period for determining a position of the device with first initial positioning data and an indication of a second time period for determining the position of the device with second initial positioning data. A positioning time gap may be determined based on the positioning capability information of the device. The apparatus may transmit a first signal, but refrain from transmitting a second signal for at least a duration of the positioning time gap from the first signal. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media for implicit indication of positioning related information. A first device selects a reference signal (RS) sequence from a plurality of available RS sequences. Based on the selected RS sequence, the first device generates a RS for positioning and then transmits the generated RS to a second device to indicate, with the selection of the reference signal sequence, at least part of side information related to the positioning.

Enhancing positioning measurement

A wireless device drops sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, in SRS resources linked for bandwidth aggregation, that conflict in time with a transmission or a reception scheduled by downlink control information (DCI). A time period between a last symbol of the DCI and a starting symbol of the SRS transmissions is equal to, or greater than, a number of symbols plus a guard period of the bandwidth aggregation.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam selection during downlink positioning. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal devices are grouped based on their characteristics and the anchor terminal device in the group determines the best transmitting beam of the neighbor network device.
