An apparatus may include circuitry configured for providing first data indicative of a first relative angle-of-arrival measurement between a first base station and a second base station, from the position of a user device, based on angle-of-arrival measurements. The apparatus may also include circuitry configured for providing second data indicative of first and second angle-of-departure measurements, each measurement indicative of an angle between the user device and the other base station of the first set of base stations from the position of the respective first and second base stations based on a plurality of beams transmitted from the respective base station to the user device. The apparatus may also include circuitry configured for determining a beam directionality error associated with at least one of the first and second base stations based on the first relative angle-of-arrival measurement and the first and second angle-of-departure measurements.

Various example embodiments relate to provision of a positioning time gap in a paging procedure. An apparatus may obtain positioning capability information of a device. The positioning capability information may comprise an indication of a first time period for determining a position of the device with first initial positioning data and an indication of a second time period for determining the position of the device with second initial positioning data. A positioning time gap may be determined based on the positioning capability information of the device. The apparatus may transmit a first signal, but refrain from transmitting a second signal for at least a duration of the positioning time gap from the first signal. Apparatuses, methods, and computer programs are disclosed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media for implicit indication of positioning related information. A first device selects a reference signal (RS) sequence from a plurality of available RS sequences. Based on the selected RS sequence, the first device generates a RS for positioning and then transmits the generated RS to a second device to indicate, with the selection of the reference signal sequence, at least part of side information related to the positioning.

The disclosure includes an apparatus, having: means for receiving, from a network entity, configuration information to indicate a window which is bandwidth-part free; and means for transmitting, to the network entity, a sounding reference signal in frequency hopping within the indicated window. An apparatus, for example a target UE, may be configured to: request at least one single difference carrier phase measurement of at least one positioning reference signal, wherein the at least one single difference carrier phase measurement is performed with at least one positioning reference unit; transmit an indication of a set of time-stamps for measurement of the at least one positioning reference signal; receive first measurement data for the at least one positioning reference signal, wherein the first measurement data comprises, at least, the at least one single difference carrier phase measurement measured with reference to the set of time-stamps; and determine a location estimation of the apparatus, comprising performing a double differential operation based, at least partially, on the first measurement data and second measurement data.

A wireless device drops sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, in SRS resources linked for bandwidth aggregation, that conflict in time with a transmission or a reception scheduled by downlink control information (DCI). A time period between a last symbol of the DCI and a starting symbol of the SRS transmissions is equal to, or greater than, a number of symbols plus a guard period of the bandwidth aggregation.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam selection during downlink positioning. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal devices are grouped based on their characteristics and the anchor terminal device in the group determines the best transmitting beam of the neighbor network device. The non-anchor terminal device uses the assistance information of the best transmitting beam determined by the anchor terminal device. In this way, cost for the terminal device to receive and measure the PRS during downlink positioning has been reduced.

A method for calibrating timing errors to improve positioning accuracy includes receiving, from a network element, calibration configuration information for communicating at least one positioning reference signal; communicating, during a positioning session and on the basis of the received calibration configuration information, a first positioning reference signal according to a first positioning reference signal pattern; and communicating, during the positioning session or during another positioning session and on the basis of the received calibration configuration information, a second positioning reference signal according to a second positioning reference signal pattern, wherein the second number of frequency resource elements is smaller than the first number of frequency resource elements and/or wherein the second number of time resource elements is greater than the first number of time resource elements.

Timing error correction in positioning of terminal device

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for user equipment (UE)-based positioning non-line of sight (NLOS) error mitigation. For example, some embodiments described herein may provide for use of a blind-learning-type algorithm for channel bias distribution estimation for UE-based positioning. The UE may perform a calculation of a positioning of the UE using NLOS bias distribution received from a network node, as described elsewhere herein.

Certain example embodiments provide systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for associating sensing information with a user (e.g., a cellular user) by, for example, determining information from both a sensing node and a communication node, then associating the a sensed object and the communication node based on the information. Additionally, or alternatively, some embodiments provide systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for radar and sensing-based positioning.

To increase positioning accuracy, channel characteristics are determined taking into account receive filter response and transmit filter response. For example, upon receiving assistance data for positioning an apparatus, a transmit sequence is generated using the assistance data; and a combination of the transmit sequence is generated by combining the transmit sequence. Further, a receive filter response is determined, a transmit filter response is obtained, and a combined filter response is generated using the receive filter response and the transmit filter response. Reference signals received over a channel are measured by sampling them into a plurality of time-domain samples, and the channel is estimated from the plurality of time-domain samples using the combined filter response and the combination of the transmit sequence. Then, per channel characteristics, a value of the channel characteristics based on the channel estimated is determined.

Method, apparatuses, and computer program product for providing an efficient receiver beam selection scheme during positioning which utilizes the uplink (UL). One method may include creating a group of user equipment with one or more user equipment according to user equipment characteristics. The method may also include assigning a group identification for the group of user equipments. The method may further include assigning an anchor user equipment for the group of user equipments.

According to an example embodiment, a method may include receiving, by a user equipment from a base station associated with a cell, control information assigning a subframe as a preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) subframe for the user equipment, the preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) subframe including an extended cyclic prefix, the control information indicating resources allocated to the user equipment for uplink transmission within the preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) subframe, wherein one or more other subframes for use by the user equipment include a normal cyclic prefix that is shorter in time than the extended cyclic prefix of the preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) subframe; and transmitting, by the user equipment, data via the resources allocated to the user equipment within the preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) subframe.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, apparatuses and computer readable storage media for multi-cell positioning. In example embodiments, a method is provided. The method includes transmitting, from a first network device, a first reference signal to a terminal device served by a second network device. The method further includes receiving a second reference signal from the second network device. The method further includes determining a first time difference between a time at which the first RS is transmitted and a time at which the second reference signal is received. In addition, the method includes transmitting information on the first time difference to a location server. As such, the location server can determine positioning information about the terminal device.
