A method of postponing an electronic message is performed at a computing device having one or more processors and memory. The memory stores one or more programs configured for execution by the one or more processors. The device displays a first electronic message for a user of the computing device and receives user input to postpone the first electronic message. In response to the user input, the device displays a plurality of postponement locations in a user interface window and receives user selection of a postponement location from the displayed plurality of postponement locations. The device then inhibits display of the first electronic message at the computing device. When it is subsequently determined that the computing device is at the first postponement location, the device redisplays the first electronic message.

Display of the electronic message at the computing device is inhibited based on received user input. One option enables a user to repeat the most recently selected postponement option. A system and method for providing at least one of a geographically relevant item or a temporally relevant item are provided. A geographical location or temporal information of a device that is configured to access items associated with an electronic messaging account is determined. First items associated with the electronic messaging account are filtered to obtain an item relevant to the determined geographical location or temporal information. Second items associated with the electronic messaging account are filtered to obtain one or more items contextually relevant to the relevant item. The relevant item and one or more items contextually relevant to the relevant item are provided for display, wherein the display is differentiated from other items of the electronic messaging account.

A system and machine-implemented method for clearing an application cache. A request for a manifest file is received from an electronic device, the manifest file indicating a current version of application resources for loading web content offline. A determination is made if the request includes a first instruction for clearing an application cache on the electronic device, the application cache comprising a stored version of application resources for loading web content offline. In a case where the request includes the first instruction, a second instruction is transmitted to the electronic device, the second instruction for instructing the electronic device to clear the application cache.

The present disclosure includes a system and method for automatically suggesting or inviting a party to join a multimedia communications session. In some embodiments, a first party, which is not currently participating in an existing multimedia communications session, attempts to contact a second party, which is currently participating in the multimedia communications session. In these embodiments, the first party automatically receives a suggestion or invitation to join the multimedia communications session when the first party has permission to join. In some instances, the multimedia communications session is a video conference including audio and video communications.

In one or more implementations, the method includes, in response to receiving a request to declare email bankruptcy of an email account, identifying emails based on one or more predetermined parameters and automatically moving the identified emails to a predetermined location, and sending a notification to one or more senders associated with the identified emails.

A system and a method are disclosed for selecting a file stored on a cloud server. A connection is established to a cloud server. A list of files stored on the cloud server is received. The list provided for display in a graphical user interface of an electronic messaging application. A user selection of a file from the list of files is received and the selected file is transferred from the cloud server in response to receiving the selection of the file. The transferred file is then attached to an electronic message.

In general, techniques for passing data from a native component to a web component of a hybrid application without reflowing the top-level document are described. The native component is located within a user space of a computing device and intercepts a request for a resource issued by the web component of the application. The native component provides access to an interface not otherwise accessible by the web component. If the request for the resource is a request for data through the interface, the native component enqueues the request in a request pool, receives the data responsive to the request through the interface, forms a response to the request using the data, dequeues the request after receiving the data, and sending, the response to the web component. If not, the native component grants permission to the web component to issue the request to a remote server.

Hybrid application message passing

In general, techniques for passing data from a native component of an application to a web component of the application without reflowing the top-level document are described. In one example, a web component of an application loads a main document that includes at least two separate frames that each causes the web component to issue an application-layer request specifying a uniform resource identifier (URI). One of the frames causes the web component to issue an application-layer request that specifies a special native request URI. A native component of the application monitors application-layer requests issued by the web component of the application and snoops the URIs specified therein. When the native component identifies an application-layer request specifying a special native request URI, the native component stores a reference to the open application-layer request. Subsequently, the native component may pass a message to the web component by responding to the application-layer request.
