An end effector of a surgical instrument may be equipped with a staple cartridge selection system, including a load sensing cartridge insertable into a channel of a cartridge jaw of an end effector for assembly therewith, the load sensing cartridge including: a body having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion; an elongated channel within the body between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion; a load sensor disposed within the elongated channel of the load sensing cartridge, the load sensor configured to sense a parameter indicative of a tissue thickness when tissue is clamped between an anvil jaw and the cartridge jaw in the clamped configuration; and a visual indicator configured to display a visual indication based on the parameter sensed by the load sensor.

An apparatus includes an external body, a floor attached to the external body, an applicator pad, and a cover. The external body defines an internal cavity and extends between a bottom and top end. The applicator pad extends from the floor into the internal cavity defined by the external body. The applicator pad has an absorbent material that can absorb an electro-lubricant. The applicator pad is dimensioned to be grasped by a pair of jaws of a surgical instrument. The cover is associated with the top end of the external body and partially defines the internal cavity of the external body. The cover allows the pair of jaws to enter the internal cavity via the cover to grasp the applicator pad.

A storage and preparation system for food or beverages employs a galley cart with a plurality of compartments. A container receivable in one of the plurality of compartments. The container has an identifier. A sensor is in each of said plurality of compartments and is adapted to read the identifier. A meal packaging and presentation system includes a base, a front panel connected to the base at a low front edge seam, a first side panel connected to the base at a first low side edge seam, a second side panel connected to the base at a second low side edge seam, a rear panel connected to the base at a low rear edge seam, a first top flap connected to the first side panel at a first top side edge seam, a second top flap connected to the second side panel at a second top side edge seam, a front top flap connected to the front panel at a top front edge seam, and a rear top flap that connects to the rear panel at a top rear edge. An interior meal chamber is formed between the base, the front panel, the first side panel, the second side panel, the rear panel, the first top flap, and the second top flap when the system is in a closed state. The system is configured to transition between the closed state and an opened presentation state through manipulation of the front panel, the first side panel, the second panel, the rear panel, the first top flap, the second top flap, the front top flap, and the rear top flap.

An aircraft dining system and method are configured to allow a passenger for a scheduled flight of an aircraft to order one or more items from restaurants within an airport. The aircraft dining system includes an order fulfiller including an order fulfillment control unit that is configured to receive an order for an item from a restaurant within the airport from the passenger for the scheduled flight so that the item is delivered to the aircraft or an area proximate to the aircraft prior to the aircraft departing the airport. In at least one embodiment, an ordering device includes an ordering control unit that is configured to allow the passenger to submit the order.
