In a method of producing an anti-reflective surface, instead of etching subwavelength structures directly onto the substrate, a thin film layer of topcoat is deposited onto the surface of the substrate, and the anti-reflective surface is created by etching the structures into the topcoat. Because the thin film can be applied to substrates made of a large number of different materials, only common etching recipes need to be developed for a few thin film materials. The present method overcomes the shortcoming that existing methods of etching structures directly on a substrate would require a different etching recipe for each substrate made of a different material.

System and method for serum based cancer detection

An interlaced diffraction grating system and process are disclosed. The interlaced grating system includes an optical dispersive grating with alternating bands of unique grating densities wherein the number of unique grating densities is greater than or equal to two. The optical dispersive grating may be reflective or transmissive, and it may be fabricated by mechanical ruling, holography, or reactive ion etching of a binary mask. An interlaced grating allows additional utility for both point spectroscopic detection as well as hyperspectral imaging.

The present disclosure provides for a correction filter that may be configured to comprise a predetermined arrangement of thin film layers. This arrangement of thin film layers may be such that it effectively enables a correction filter to generate a predetermined spectral response, wherein said predetermined spectral response is substantially the same as a determined instrument response correction associated with an instrument. The invention of the present disclosure therefore provides for effectively compensating for transmission inefficiencies associated with an instrument without the need for separate reference measurements to determine and correct for instrument response.

A method for analyzing organ samples using hyperspectral imaging comprising illuminating an organ sample to generate interacted photons, collecting the interacted photons and passing the interacted photons through a tunable filter. The filtered interacted photons are detected to generate a hyperspectral image. A brightfield image is generated and associated with the hyperspectral image. Spectra from locations of interest are extracted and analyzed to assess a characteristic of the organ sample. A system may comprise an illumination source to illuminate an organ sample and generate interacted photons, a collection optics for collecting the interacted photons and a tunable filter to filter the interacted photons. A detector is configured to detect the filtered photons and generate at least one hyperspectral image. The detector may also be configured to generate at least one brightfield image representative of the organ sample.

System and method for gross anatomic pathology using hyperspectral imaging

A method of classifying information in an optical analysis system includes obtaining calibration data defining a plurality of data points, each data point representing values for two or more detectors when sampling a material used to construct a multivariate optical element. Based on the calibration data, one or more validation models can be developed to indicate one or more ranges of expected results. Validation data comprising the models can be used to compare data points representing values for two or more detectors when performing a measurement of a material to determine if the data points fall within an expected range. Classification data can be generated based on the comparison and, in some embodiments, one or more indicators, such as a confidence level in a measurement, can be provided.

A system and method for detecting at least one target of interest using at least two conformal filters in a dual polarization configuration. A plurality of interacted photons are collected from a sample comprising at least one analyte of interest. The plurality of interacted photons are separated into at least a first and second optical component.
