Systems and methods for angle polishing of the end faces of a plurality of optical connectors are provided. Systems are provided that include a connector defining a longitudinal axis, and at least two ferrules mounted with respect to the connector and arranged in a side-by-side orientation. The end faces of the connectors are movable relative to the connector and such movement facilitates lateral orientation of the angle polished end faces of the ferrules relative to the connector when in the mating position. Various mechanisms and methods for facilitating movement of the ferrules relative to the connector are disclosed to achieve the desired lateral polish orientation of the ferrule end faces.

Angle polishing systems and methods for multi-ferrule optical connectors

An example modular cable management device for a media patching system is provided. The device includes a body defining a top surface, a bottom surface opposing the top surface, a front side, and a rear side opposing the front side. The device includes an opening formed in the body at the bottom surface and extending into the body. The opening includes features for engagement with a fastener for detachable coupling of the body to the media patching system. The device includes extensions protruding from the front side of the body. The extensions define one or more spaces therebetween for receipt of cables associated with the media patching system.

Modular cable management device

An example cable enclosure is provided that includes a chassis, a front cover coupled to the chassis, and first and second slide rails slidably coupled relative to the chassis. The cable enclosure includes a first release lever mounted to the chassis. The first release lever is capable of being positioned into a first position and a second position. In the first position, the first release lever engages the chassis to prevent sliding of the chassis and the front cover relative to the first and second slide rails. In the second position, the first release lever disengages the chassis to allow for sliding of the chassis and the front cover relative to the first and second slide rails.

Extendable cable enclosure

An example single-station splicing unit is provided that includes a housing, an alignment element, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The housing includes an interior space and at least one cover configured to be interlocked with the housing to enclose the interior space. The alignment element is disposed within the interior space of the housing. The first electrode is disposed on one side of the housing, and the second electrode is disposed in the housing on an opposing side from the first electrode and in a facing relationship with the first electrode. The housing is configured to receive fibers in an opposing and abutting relationship to splice the fibers, and the housing remains secured to the fibers after splicing.

Single-station splicing unit and method

Advantageous packaging assemblies for use in optical fiber applications are provided. More particularly, the present disclosure provides for improved packaging assemblies (e.g., bandolier-style packaging assemblies) that are configured and adapted to house a plurality of splice-on connector members (e.g., fusion splice-on connector members). The present disclosure provides for improved systems and designs for packaging assemblies for use with splice-on connector members, and where the packaging assemblies are cost-effective, efficient and/or user-friendly. In exemplary embodiments, the present disclosure provides for improved, convenient, low-cost and effective systems and methods for easily packaging a plurality of splice-on connector members for later use (e.g., termination).

Packaging assemblies for optical fiber applications

An example ejectable cassette, guide column, and ejectable cassette system is provided. The ejectable cassette includes a housing including a proximal end, a distal end, a first side, and a second side. The ejectable cassette includes a first locking mechanism assembly at the first side of the housing. The first locking mechanism assembly includes a first locking tab slidably disposed along the first locking mechanism assembly. The first locking tab is biased towards the proximal end of the housing. The ejectable cassette includes a second locking mechanism assembly at the second side of the housing. The second locking mechanism assembly includes a second locking tab slidably disposed along the second locking mechanism assembly. The second locking tab is biased towards the distal end of the housing.

The present disclosure provides improved media patching systems, and related methods of use. The present disclosure provides improved systems/methods for the design and use of patching systems configured to support multiple media connections (e.g., high density media connections). More particularly, the present disclosure provides advantageous systems/methods for the design and use of media patching systems that include improved features and structures (e.g., camming door; stackable cable manager members; tool-less mounting attachments; cable/fiber retention grommets; pivotable cable management arms; removable panel members; sliding label fields). Moreover, exemplary media patching systems disclosed herein advantageously provide improved access to the media connectors and/or cabling elements.

Fiber enclosure

The present disclosure provides advantageous cable assemblies (e.g., hybridized cable assemblies), and improved methods/systems for using the same. More particularly, the present disclosure provides improved systems/methods for the design and use of hybridized cable assemblies configured to facilitate the transfer of data and power. The present disclosure provides an advantageous hybridized cable assembly that is configured and adapted to transfer data and power across some length of a hybrid cable. An advantageous hybridized cable assembly can be configured to function with available hardware. Certain embodiments can utilize Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology to provide power to the hybridized cable assembly and subsequently to the end device. An exemplary hybridized cable assembly can transfer a combined transmission across some length of the hybridized cable assembly. The hybridized cable assembly can perform alterations to the incoming transmissions prior to outputting the combined transmission to a desired device.

Improved cable management assemblies and related methods of use are provided. The present disclosure provides advantageous systems for the design and use of splice managers configured to provide for user-friendly access for the splicing of media cables (e.g., optical fiber cables), while also providing for the management and storage of the spliced cables. An exemplary splice manager includes two integral spools, the splice manager being removable from the assembly housing (e.g., from the splice cassette/tray) to allow for the splicing of the fibers to be performed out in the open, and then enable the fiber excess from both the input cable and the fiber harness of the assembly housing to be spooled independently of one another on a respective spool, and then allow the splice manager to be re-mounted to the assembly housing (e.g., within the enclosure space of the splice cassette).

Splice managers and related methods of use

The present disclosure provides improved fiber optic connector assemblies (e.g., high density fiber optic cassette assemblies) for use in communication systems, and improved methods for using the same. More particularly, the present disclosure provides advantageous systems/methods for the design and use of media patching systems having fiber optic connector assemblies that include a sliding securement member. The fiber optic connector assemblies are easily secured and/or unsecured to or from a media system (e.g., to or from a panel member of a media system). The present disclosure provides for improved systems and methods for easily securing and/or unsecuring fiber optic connector assemblies to or from a panel member or the like by utilizing advantageous connector assemblies that include a sliding securement member, and related assemblies.

Fiber optic cassette assembly

Improved connector assemblies for use in communication systems and related methods for using the same are provided. The present disclosure provides advantageous connector assemblies (e.g., fiber optic cassettes) having a detachable front bezel that allows the connector assemblies to be assembled, terminated and/or mounted with respect to a panel member from the rear of the panel member, thereby providing user-friendly access for the splicing and management/storage of media cables (e.g., optical fiber cables). The present disclosure provides for a connector assembly having one or more locking members. Each locking member is configured to releasably secure the connector assembly to a bezel member mounted to a panel member. Exemplary panel member can include any suitable number or combination of connector assemblies releasably mounted with respect thereto, via a respective bezel member releasably mounted to the panel member.

Advantageous fiber optic connector assemblies (e.g., fiber cassette or adapter modules) are provided for use in communication systems, and improved methods for using the fiber optic connector assemblies are also provided. More particularly, improved systems/methods for the design and use of media patching systems having connector assemblies that include a slide lock member are provided. The connector assemblies are easily secured and/or unsecured to or from a media system (e.g., to or from a panel member of a media system). In exemplary embodiments, improved systems and methods are provided for easily securing and/or unsecuring fiber optic connector assemblies to or from a panel member or the like by utilizing advantageous connector assemblies that include a slide lock member, and related assemblies.

Advantageous optical fiber harnessing members for connector assemblies and related methods of use are provided. The present disclosure provides improved harnessing members configured to provide bend control of optical fibers in connector assemblies, and related methods of use. More particularly, the present disclosure provides advantageous systems/methods for the design and use of internal harnessing members configured to provide bend control of optical fibers in duplex or quad uniboot connector assemblies. Disclosed herein are advantageous harnessing members providing bend control of optical fibers in connector assemblies (e.g., duplex or quad uniboot connector assemblies), thereby allowing optical fiber cable (e.g., light-construction cable, such as coated fiber with a 250 &#x3bc;m diameter) to be successfully and reliably deployed in such connector assemblies.

Internal harnessing members and method for bend control of optical fibers in connector assemblies

Exemplary embodiments of a ventilating system for regulating a property of an electrical equipment cabinet are provided, generally including a duct configured and dimensioned to be mounted with respect to the electrical equipment cabinet. The exemplary ventilating system generally includes a damper mounted with respect to the duct and a sensor mounted with respect to at least one of the electrical equipment cabinet and the duct. The sensor is generally effective to generate signals related to the property. Exemplary methods for regulating a property of an electrical equipment cabinet with a ventilating system are provided, generally including throttling the damper based at least in part upon a sensed property to maintain a substantially zero pressure or temperature environment in the electrical equipment cabinet.
