Disclosed here is a method for making a three-dimensional micro-architected aerogel, comprising: (a) curing a reaction mixture comprising a co-sol-gel material (e.g., graphene oxide (GO)) and at least one catalyst to obtain a crosslinked co-sol-gel (e.g., GO hydrogel); (b) providing a photoresin comprising a solvent, a photoinitiator, a crosslinkable polymer precursor, and a dispersion of the crosslinked co-sol-gel (e.g., GO hydrogel); (c) curing the photoresin using projection microstereolithography layer-by-layer to produce a wet gel having a pre-designed three-dimensional structure; (d) drying the wet gel to produce a dry gel; and (e) pyrolyzing the dry gel to produce a three-dimensional micro-architected aerogel (e.g., graphene aerogel). Also disclosed is a photoresin for projection microstereolithography, comprising a solvent, a photoinitiator, a crosslinkable polymer precursor, and a dispersion of a crosslinked co-sol-gel.

Additive manufacturing of hierarchical three- dimensional micro-architected aerogels

Disclosed here is a method for making an architected three-dimensional aerogel, comprising providing a photoresin comprising a solvent, a photoinitiator, a crosslinkable polymer precursor, and a precursor for graphene, metal oxide or metal chalcogenide; curing the photoresin using projection microstereolithography layer-by-layer to produce a wet gel having a pre-designed three dimensional structure; drying the wet gel to produce a dry gel; and pyrolyzing the dry gel to produce an architected three-dimensional aerogel. Also disclosure is a photoresin for projection microstereolithography, comprising a solvent, a photoinitiator, a crosslinkable polymer precursor, and graphene oxide.

Architected three dimensional graphene via additive manufacturing

The present disclosure relates to a method for performing a three dimensional (3D) printing process. A primary light beam having a wavelength sufficient to initiate polymerization of a photoresin is generated and patterned into a patterned primary beam. The patterned primary beam is directed toward an ultraviolet (UV) or visible light sensitive photoresin to initiate polymerization of select areas of the photoresin. The photoresin is also illuminated with a secondary light beam having a wavelength of at least one of about 765 nm, 1064 nm, or 1273 nm. The secondary light beam stimulates triplet oxygen into singlet oxygen, which controls oxygen inhibition in additional areas bordering the select areas, to enable controlled polymerization inhibition in the additional areas bordering the select areas.

Optically enhanced patternable photosensitivity via oxygen excitation

The present disclosure relates to a system for forming a three dimensional (3D) part. The system may incorporate a beam delivery subsystem for generating optical signals, and a mask subsystem that receives the optical signals and generates optical images therefrom. A first one of the optical images activates a polymerization species of a photo-sensitive resin in accordance with illuminated areas thereof, to thus cause polymerization of select portions of the photo-sensitive resin to help form a layer of the 3D part. A second one of the optical images causes stimulated emission depletion of subportions of the polymerization species, simultaneously, over various areas of the layer, to enhance resolution of at least one subportion of the select portions of the photo-sensitive resin.

System and method for stimulated emission depletion projection stereolithography

A method is disclosed for performing a three dimensional (3D) printing process.
