Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using stent delivery systems are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member having a stent receiving region. A stent may be disposed along the stent receiving region. The system may also include a deployment sheath axially slidable relative to the inner member. The deployment sheath may have a proximal end region. A rack may be coupled to the proximal end region of the deployment sheath. An outer shaft may be disposed along at least a portion of the deployment sheath. The deployment sheath may be rotatable relative to the inner member, the outer shaft or both.

Stent delivery systems

Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using stent delivery systems are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member having a stent receiving region, a stent disposed along the stent receiving region, a deployment sheath axially slidable relative to the inner member, the deployment sheath having a proximal end region, a handle coupled to the deployment sheath, a rod coupled to the handle, the rod having a distal end region, a proximal end region and a first threaded portion extending from the distal end region to the proximal end region and a coupling member configured to couple the rod to the deployment sheath, the coupling member having an engagement portion. Additionally, the first threaded portion of the rod is designed to engage the engagement portion of coupling member and rotation of the rod is designed to translate the coupling member along the rod.

The present disclosure generally relates to medical devices and methods for navigating a catheter shaft into the body of a subject during an intracoronary or other medical procedure and controlling the distal end of the catheter shaft. The present disclosure includes the use of an introducer positioning device that may be used in combination with an introducer. The introducer positioning device when used in combination with an introducer allows a catheter shaft to be inserted therethrough and into the introducer shaft located in the introducer where a distal end of the catheter shaft is aligned with the distal end of the introducer shaft.

Disclosed herein is a catheter tip sized and configured to fit onto a distal end of a catheter shaft, the catheter shaft having a shaft outer diameter. The catheter tip includes a base, a tip having an arcuate shape, an outer surface extending from the base to the tip along a longitudinal axis, the outer surface having a diameter at the base that is substantially equal to the shaft outer diameter, and an inner surface extending from the base, wherein the inner surface defines a first region having a first diameter and a second region having a second diameter, wherein the second diameter is less than the first diameter, and wherein the second region is distal of the first region and configured to receive at least one component extending beyond the distal end of the catheter shaft.

A catheter has a body including a proximal region, a neck region, and a distal region. A shaping wire is disposed within the distal region to predispose it into at least a partial loop, which may have a fixed or variable radius of curvature. The shaping wire includes a distal portion having a circular transverse cross-sectional shape and a proximal portion having a non-circular (e.g., rectangular) transverse cross-sectional shape. The proximal portion of the shaping wire can have a width-to-thickness ratio of at least about 4, such as about 4.67. A transition portion can promote a gradual transition from the circular to the non-circular transverse cross-sectional shape, for example by increasing a width of the shaping wire by about 0.001&#x2033; and/or by decreasing a thickness of the shaping wire by about 0.001&#x2033; for every about 0.004&#x2033; in length through the transition portion.

A catheter includes a proximal shaft and a distal shaft having differing diameters; often, the distal shaft will have a smaller diameter than the proximal shaft. A coupling joins the distal shaft to the proximal shaft. For example, a proximal portion of the distal shaft can be inserted into the coupling through its distal end, while the proximal portion of the coupling can be inserted into the proximal shaft through its distal end. To provide an atraumatic transition from the distal shaft to the proximal shaft, coupling can taper towards its distal end, for example by using a dome- or frustoconical-shape for the distal portion of the coupling. The exterior of the coupling can be ribbed to facilitate bonding to the proximal shaft. The distal shaft can be formed into at least a partial loop having a fixed or variable radius of curvature.
