A compression fitting includes a first fitting segment defining a first arcuate central section, a first retention rib extending radially inward from the first arcuate central section; a second fitting segment defining a second arcuate central section, a second retention rib ending radially inward from the second arcuate central section; and a grip ring defining a first ring end and a second ring end, wherein a split is defined between the first ring end and the second ring end, and wherein the first ring end engages the first retention rib and the second ring end engages the second retention rib.

Compression fitting

Example aspects of a tight-seal piping component, a tight-seal piping assembly, and a method for preventing leaking in a piping assembly are disclosed. The tight-seal piping component can comprise a fitting body defining a fitting inner surface, a fitting outer surface opposite the fitting inner surface, a first fitting end, and a second fitting end opposite the first fitting end, the fitting inner surface defining: an interior channel defining a fitting axis; a seal stop surface within the interior channel; and internal threading between first fitting end and the seal stop surface, the internal threading defining straight threading extending in a direction about perpendicular to the fitting axis; and a seal received within interior channel and abutting seal stop surface.

Tight-seal piping component

A pipe fitting includes a fitting body defining an inner surface, an outer surface, a first fitting end, and a second fitting end, the inner surface defining a channel extending from the first fitting end to the second fitting end, a portion of the inner surface defining a tapered region tapering towards the first fitting end; and an engagement assembly comprising a metal grip ring received in the channel, the metal grip ring defining a substantially frustoconical ring body, the ring body defining a diameter that tapers from a first lateral end of the ring body to a second lateral end of the ring body, the engagement assembly configured to slide along the tapered region.

A grip ring can include a ring body defining an inner surface facing radially inward, a first tooth, and a second tooth; each of the first tooth and the second tooth extending from the inner surface of the ring body, each of the first tooth and the second tooth defining a cylindrical end surface facing radially inward, a first side surface of each of the first tooth and the second tooth extending from the end surface of the respective tooth and towards the inner surface, and a second side surface of each of the first tooth and the second tooth extending from the end surface of the respective tooth and towards the inner surface; each of the first side surface and the second side surface of the respective tooth being angled in cross section with respect to the end surface.

A pipe fitting includes a fitting body defining an inner surface, an outer surface, a first fitting end, and an second fitting end, the inner surface defining a channel extending from the first fitting end to the second fitting end, a portion of the inner surface defining a tapered region tapering towards the first fitting end; and an engagement assembly comprising a metal grip ring received in the channel, the metal grip ring defining a ring body and a plurality of teeth extending inward from the ring body, the engagement assembly configured to slide along the tapered region.

A machine includes a tool housing defining a housing cavity; a first tool coupled to a first linear drive mechanism, the first tool linearly repositionable along an axis by the first linear drive mechanism about and between a first retracted position and an extended position, the first tool positioned within the housing cavity in the first retracted position, the first tool positioned external to the housing cavity in the extended position; and a second tool coupled to a second linear drive mechanism, the second tool linearly repositionable along the axis by the second linear drive mechanism about and between a second retracted position and a sealing position, the second tool positioned within the housing cavity in the second retracted position, the second tool positioned external to the housing cavity in the sealing position.
