A device includes a controller body, at least one user input device supported by the controller body, a communication device, and a status indicator. The communication device communicates at least one property of the at least one user input device to a selected endpoint connection. The status indicator is located proximate a surface of the body, and the status indicator dynamically indicates the selected endpoint connection of the communication device, where the selected endpoint connection is selected from a plurality of endpoint connections including at least a local electronic device and an access point configured to communicate with a cloud service.

Systems and methods for input switching of accessory devices

The description relates to input devices that can be secured to and used to control various devices. One example input device can include a housing defining a top surface that includes controls. The housing can define a recess that includes generally opposing upper and lower surfaces that extends at least partially under and parallel to the top surface. A self-adjusting gripping mechanism can extend into the recess through the lower surface and can be biased toward the upper surface. The self-adjusting gripping mechanism can be configured to be contacted by devices having a range of thicknesses and configured to grip individual devices within the range of thicknesses between the self-adjusting gripping mechanism and the upper surface.

Adaptable input devices

A controller system is provided herein that includes a controller base including at least one input device for receiving user input and a mechanical interface. The controller system further includes a controller module comprising a processor and memory. The controller module is configured to removably mount on the controller base at the mechanical interface thereby establishing a communication link therebetween. The user input received at the at least one input device is routed through the controller module to a console computing device.

A device for supporting an electronic display includes a base, a display mount having a first position and a second position relative to the base, and a connection mechanism positioned between the base and the display mount. The connection mechanism is configured to rotate and translate the display mount from the first position to the second position according to a torque curve. The torque curve includes a discovery stage adjacent the first position, an initiation stage rotationally after the discovery stage, and an approach stage rotationally after the initiation stage. The connection mechanism applies a force toward the first position in the discovery stage. The connection mechanism having an initiation force applied toward the first position that is greater than the force in the discovery stage. The approach stage having an approach force applied toward the second position.

Systems and methods of providing a multipositional display

A method of presenting visual information to a user includes detecting a position of a display relative to a surrounding environment, detecting movement of the display relative to the surrounding environment in real time, and updating a present of visual information on the display relative to a virtual reference frame updated in real time based upon the movement of the display relative to the surrounding environment.

A direction control pad includes a body with a top side. The top side includes a center surface with a plurality of cardinal surfaces oriented at an angle to the center surface and a plurality of diagonal surface oriented at an angle to the center surface.
