A fluid pump includes a cam plate that defines an interior cam surface having an eccentric portion and a narrow portion. A hub rotates within the interior cam surface and has a piston cavity that is in communication with an inlet port and an outlet port. A piston member is operably received within the piston cavity to define a suction phase within the eccentric portion and a pressure phase within the narrowed portion. The piston member is biased outward by rotational operation of the hub. During the suction phase, the piston member is biased away from the piston cavity to define a flow cavity that draws fluid from the inlet port. During the pressure phase, the piston member is biased by the narrowed portion into the flow cavity to push the fluid from the flow cavity toward the outlet port.

Ball piston pump

A modular fluid pump includes a stator having a plurality of stator teeth and windings that are positioned on the stator teeth. A rotor has a central shaft and substantially hemispheric ends and a plurality of magnets that define an electromagnetic communication with the windings A housing surrounds the stator and includes a fixed end cap that receives one of the hemispheric ends of the central shaft and defines a rotational axis of the rotor. A securing end cap that receives the other hemispheric end of the central shaft. The central shaft and the fixed and securing end caps define the rotational axis of the rotor. Engagement of the hemispheric end with the central shaft and the fixed and securing end caps maintains the rotor and the central shaft aligned with the rotational axis and balanced within the stator.

Modular fluid pump for use in diverse applications

A fluid pump includes a pump element where rotation of the pump element generates suction at the inlet and pressure at the outlet to move fluid through a fluid path. An inlet orifice directs a portion of the fluid through the accessory fluid path that includes a low-restriction return path providing a continuous flow of the fluid through the accessory fluid path and to an outlet orifice. A circuit board housing includes a contoured portion and a PCB with a thermistor in communication with contoured portion. The continuous flow is directed between the contoured portion and the outlet orifice between a rotor and the outer wall. The low-restriction return path maintains a temperature of the continuous flow of the fluid within the contoured portion of the accessory fluid path to be similar to a temperature of the fluid in the fluid path.

Thermistor flow path

A motor assembly includes a housing having a motor cavity. A stator is disposed within the housing. A rotor rotates within the stator and within the motor cavity about a rotational axis. A controller is coupled with the stator having a filter circuit board and a main circuit board that are interconnected at a terminal header to define a multilayer circuit board assembly. The circuit board assembly has an electrical interface and a data interface attached to at least one of the filter circuit board and the main circuit board.

Electrical motor using a heat spreader and cartridge control assembly

A fluid pump includes a housing. A delivery portion includes a delivery pump element disposed within the housing. A return portion includes a return pump element disposed within the housing. A motor is disposed within the housing that drives the delivery pump element and the return pump element via a drive shaft. The delivery portion is configured to deliver fluid from a reservoir to a drive unit. The return pump element is configured to deliver the fluid from a sump assembly of the drive unit to the reservoir.

Electric motor with dual pump for providing scavenge and delivery functions

A fluid pump includes a pump element in communication with an inlet and an outlet. Rotation of the pump element generates a suction at the inlet and pressure at the outlet. The suction and pressure cooperate to move a fluid through a fluid path. An accessory fluid path is in communication with the inlet and outlet. The accessory fluid path includes a thermistor in communication with the accessory fluid path. The thermistor monitors a temperature of the fluid within the accessory fluid path.

A shift actuator includes a motor that drives a drum assembly having a disconnect track and a range track. Operation of the motor rotates the drum assembly about a rotational axis. A fork rod is positioned parallel with the rotational axis. A disconnect fork is slidably coupled with the disconnect track and the fork rod. A range fork is slidably coupled with the range track and the fork rod. The disconnect track and the range track define a plurality of actuating positions of the disconnect fork and the range fork. The plurality of actuating positions are defined by corresponding flat portions of the disconnect track and the range track that maintain a position of the disconnect fork and the range fork, respectively, relative to the fork rod.

Shift actuator for power transfer unit

A vibration-cancelling module includes a first rotor having a first eccentric body, a second rotor having a second eccentric body, and a stator assembly in electromagnetic communication with the first and second rotors. A central shaft extends between the first and second rotors. The first and second rotors rotationally operate about a common rotational axis with respect to one another between a balanced position and a plurality of eccentric positions. A controller has an accelerometer assembly and a rotor-position sensor assembly. The controller delivers an electrical current to the stator assembly at least based upon the accelerometer assembly. A common housing contains the first and second rotors, the stator assembly, the central shaft and the controller.

Circular force generator having a self-contained positioning sensor assembly

Systems and methods are provided for pumps that deliver optimized torque characteristics and volumetric efficiency. A system includes a housing defining a surface and a rotor defining a face. A face clearance is defined between the face and the surface. The face clearance is variable in magnitude and determinative of target performance characteristics of the pump system. The housing is made of a material selected to have a thermal expansion characteristic and the rotor is made of a second material selected to have another thermal expansion characteristic. The thermal expansion characteristics deliver the target performance characteristics of the pump system.

Pump system and method for optimized torque requirements and volumetric efficiencies

A sway-bar actuator for a vehicle includes a motor that rotationally operates a lead rod to axially operates a push rod. Operation of the push rod axially operates an attachment fork between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The engaged position is characterized by a unified operation of opposing stabilizing bars. The disengaged position is characterized by independent rotational operation of the opposing stabilizing bars. A sensor rod is coupled to and operates axially with the attachment fork. A sensor assembly has a rotator and a sensor magnet. Axial operation of the sensor rod produces a rotational operation of the sensor magnet. The sway-bar actuator includes an encoder, where a rotational position of the sensor magnet relative to the encoder corresponds to an axial position of the attachment fork and the push rod relative to the engaged and disengaged positions.

A fluid pump includes a stator. A rotor is rotationally operable with respect to the stator. A drive shaft extends from the rotor to a pump assembly that delivers a fluid from an inlet to an outlet. A pump housing includes an interior cavity that contains the stator, the rotor and the pump assembly. A pump cover is disposed at an end of the pump housing. The pump cover defines an end of the interior cavity. A spring assembly biases the pump cover in an axial direction toward the pump assembly.
