A connector for a flat flexible cable includes a housing and a terminal disposed in the housing. The housing has a base and a cover. The base has a closed section with a receiving passageway and an open section extending from the closed section. The cover encloses the open section in a closed position of the cover. The cover has a main body with a pressing surface and a latch extending from the main body. The latch engages a catch of the base in the closed position. The terminal is disposed in the receiving passageway and has a tab extending into the open section. The pressing surface abuts the tab and presses the tab toward the base in the closed position.

Connector for a flat flexible cable

A conductive terminal for a flat flexible cable comprises a first contact surface, and a second contact surface opposing the first contact surface. The first and second contact surfaces define a space therebetween for receiving a flat flexible cable along a longitudinal direction of the terminal. A structure of protruding elements is defined on the first contact surface and includes a plurality of protruding elements extending from the first contact surface in a direction of the second contact surface. The structure of protruding elements includes at least one protruding element having a first height, and at least one protruding element having a second height, distinct from the first height.

A power connector includes a housing having a terminal channel and a terminal received in the terminal channel including a mating pin at a front of the terminal and a cable connector at a rear of the terminal. The mating pin is positioned in the terminal channel for mating with a charging connector. The cable connector includes a pad configured to be terminated to a power cable. The power connector includes a heat exchanger thermally coupled to the pad of the terminal. The heat exchanger includes a coolant channel for coolant flow through the heat exchanger for actively cooling the terminal. The heat exchanger includes a thermally conductive separator electrically isolating the heat exchanger from the pad of the terminal.

A spring clip includes a first beam and a second beam connected to the first beam and resiliently deflectable toward the first beam from a relaxed position distal from the first beam to a compressed position proximal to the first beam. The second beam has a spring latch extending toward the first beam. The spring latch engages the first beam to secure the second beam in the compressed position. The clip may be positioned in a housing having a rotatable cover formed to compress the clip against a conductor when moved to a closed position.

Spring clip and connector for a flat flexible cable

A spring clip for a flat flexible cable includes a first beam and a second beam connected to the first beam and resiliently deflectable toward the first beam. The second beam has a first contact bend extending toward the first beam. The flat flexible cable is positioned between the first beam and the second beam and the first contact bend abuts a conductor exposed through an insulation material of the flat flexible cable to electrically connect the spring clip with the conductor.

A connector for a flat flexible cable includes a housing and a spring clip disposed in the housing. The housing has a main body and a cover. The cover is movable with respect to the main body between an open position and a closed position. The spring clip is resiliently deflectable by the cover. The spring clip is in a first state with the cover in the open position in which the spring clip abuts a conductor exposed through an insulation material of the flat flexible cable with a first contact force. The spring clip is in a second state with the cover in the closed position in which the spring clip abuts the conductor with a second contact force greater than the first contact force.

An electrical contact a mating portion for mating with a mating contact. The mating portion has a contact portion and a retention portion. The mating portion has a mating portion bottom wall, a mating portion top wall and mating portion side walls. A respective mating portion side wall has an upper portion which extends beyond the top wall. The retention portion has a retention portion top wall, a retention portion side wall and a retention portion back wall. The retention portion back wall is configured to approximate the space provided between the mating portion top wall, the upper portion of the respective mating portion side wall, the retention portion top wall and a retention portion side wall. The retention portion back wall prevents damage or deformation of the retention portion as a force applied to the retention portion.

Pass-thru connector assembly includes a pass-thru body having a passage section and a loading section that are configured to be positioned in separate first and second spaces, respectively. The pass-thru body also includes a body channel that extends therethrough. The passage section defines an opening to the body channel in the first space. The pass-thru connector assembly also includes a header housing that is configured to mate with an electrical connector. The header housing is attached to the passage section and covers the opening to the body channel. An electrical cable extends through an aperture of a cable seal and into and through the cable portion of the body channel. The cable seal engages the outer jacket of the electrical cable at a sealed interface. The electrical contact is coupled to the header housing and positioned for engaging a corresponding contact of the electrical connector.
