Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced geographical caching of estimated arrival times. A method may include receiving respective user inputs indicative of respective users being in transit to a destination location from within a geographic region; determining, for the first user and the second user, a first estimated time of arrival from a first geographical area to the destination location, the first geographical area including the first location and the second location; identifying a third location of the first device at a third time, wherein the third location is within the first geographical area; determining that a time-to-live (TTL) of the first estimated time of arrival has not expired at the third time; and refraining from recalculating the first estimated time of arrival.

Enhanced geographical caching

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for systems and methods for autonomous device authentication and compartment unlocking. Example methods may include determining, by a user device, an identifier associated with a target Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device, receiving a beacon from a Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device, and determining, using the beacon, that the Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device is the target Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device. Example methods may include establishing a connection with the target Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device, and sending a signal to the target Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device to implement an action, where the signal comprises a resource identifier, and where the target Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral device controls access to a plurality of resources, and uses the resource identifier to identify a resource of the plurality of resources at which to implement the action.

Autonomous device authentication and compartment unlocking

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing location-based service zones that are active during limited time periods. A notification of a trigger event relating to a location-based time zone can be received. The time the notification is received can be compared to time window that the location-based service zone is active. A notification of the trigger event is sent to a respective provider associated with the location-based service zone when the location-based service zone is active.

Time-restricted location-based service zone management

A user location in a parking lot or other designated area may be identified based on sensor data, such as from one or more sensors in or around the designated area. Also within the designated area, a transport location of a transport associated with an order of the user may be identified based on image data provided by one or more cameras remote from the transport. The transport can be controlled to move from the identified transport location to the identified user location.

A customer offset may be determined with respect to a customer who has previously traveled to one or more merchant locations. A merchant location offset may be determined with respect to multiple customers who have each traveled to a particular merchant location. Upon determining that the customer is in transit to the merchant location, a generic ETA to the merchant location may be determined. A customer-based ETA for the customer with respect to the merchant location may be determined based on the generic ETA and the customer offset. Moreover, a merchant location-based ETA for the customer with respect to the merchant location may be determined based on the generic ETA and the merchant location offset. Based on the refined and more accurate ETAs, the merchant location may be instructed to begin assembling items for pick-up by the customer.

A system that performs self-diagnosing of unreliable radio frequency identification (RFID) tags in a first location within an environment includes an RFID printer that prints RFID tags in the first location and RFID antennas located at different distances to the first location. The system obtains, for each RFID tag, a first set of RFID parameters of the RFID tag for each RFID antenna when the RFID tag is in the first location. The system generates, for each RFID tag, a model of RFID tag behavior over different distances to an RFID antenna, based at least in part on the first set of RFID parameters obtained for the RFID tag.

Automated RFID tag profiling at application

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing which location-based service zones to monitor within a geographic region. An active zone defining a geographic region and location-based service zones within the geographic region is provided by another computing device. The selection of a subset of the location-based service zones to monitor within an active zone can be based on an estimated current device location and/or other parameters.

High density location-based service zone management for a geographic region

A customer may place an order for items to be picked up at a merchant location. Upon receiving an indication that the customer is initiating travel to the merchant location to pick up the items, multiple ETA data points for the customer may be determined while the customer is in transit to the merchant location. Based on the ETA data, it may be determined that the customer is likely to arrive after the merchant location closes, which may prevent the customer from being able to pick up the items from the merchant location. Alternative fulfillment options may be presented to the customer to enable the customer to obtain the items. The alternative fulfillment options may include picking up the items at an alternative merchant location, scheduling a delivery of the items, picking up the items from the merchant location at a subsequent time, or facilitating a cancelation of the order.

ETA-based item pick-up and fulfillment alternatives

Upon receiving an indication that a customer is initiating travel to a merchant location to pick up one or more items, sensor data may be obtained by, and received from, a customer device of the customer. After the customer has arrived at the merchant location, the customer may be greeted or otherwise interacted with and a corresponding interaction time may be determined. The service provider may identify one or more stop events based on the sensor data, where a stop event indicates that a customer stopped while in transit to the merchant location. A most recent stop event prior to the interaction time may constitute the customer arriving/stopping at the merchant location, and a corresponding arrival time may be estimated. A wait time of the customer may be determined based on a difference between the interaction time and the arrival time.

Sensor-based customer arrival detection

A system that performs self-calibration for tracking packages includes a frame providing storage locations for storing items, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags disposed in the storage locations, and an RFID antenna(s). The system determines a distance between each RFID tag and the RFID antenna(s) and monitors signal characteristics from each RFID tag. For each RFID tag, the system generates (i) at least one first parameter indicative of an environmental condition(s) at a location of the RFID tag and (ii) at least one second parameter indicative of a response rate behavior of the RFID tag, based on the signal characteristics and the distance between the RFID tag and the RFID antenna(s). The system tracks an RFID tagged item located in one of the storage locations based at least in part on the first and second parameter(s) for each of the RFID tags.

Smart shelf with self calibration

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing location-based service zones being monitored by a client device. The location-based service zones within a geographic region can be organized in location-based service zone clusters. In response to receiving an active zone from a computing device, a client device can begin monitoring the geographic parameters for the top-level location-based service zone clusters. When the client device detects an entry into a particular location-based service zone cluster, the client device stops monitoring the top-level location-based service zone clusters and begins monitoring the location-based service zones that are within the particular location-based service zone cluster.

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing which location-based service zones to monitor when the number location-based service zones within a geographic region exceed the amount the device can support. An active zone defining a geographic region and location-based service zones within the geographic region is provided by another computing device. When the number of location-based service zones meets or exceeds a predefined threshold, a subset of the location-based service zones is selected for monitoring according to a current device location and/or other parameters.
