Apparatuses, systems, and methods for preclinical ultrasound imaging of subjects are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus can include a platform on which a subject is positionable and at least one motion stage for controlling a spatial position of at least one ultrasound transducer relative to the platform in order to acquire ultrasound image data of the subject. Methods for preclinical ultrasound raster scanning of at least one organ or tissue in a subject are also provided, where the at least one organ or tissue is a heart.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for preclinical ultrasound imaging of subjects

Methods of obtaining a measure of blood flow using a Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (FDOCT) system is provided. The method includes obtaining a first optical coherence tomography (OCT) survey scan of a retina of a subject using an OCT scan beam and obtaining a second OCT scan of the retina. The second OCT scan is within an area defined by the obtained first OCT scan and includes a region of retinal blood vessels emerging from and returning to an Optic Nerve Head (ONH) of the retina. An optical phase change is determined from the obtained second OCT scan, the optical phase change being associated with blood flow in a retinal blood vessel in the region of the second OCT scan. An angle of the retinal blood vessel associated with the optical phase change is determined, the angle being measured relative to a direction of transmission of the OCT scan beam. A quantitative measure of vessel blood flow is computed using the optical phase change and the vessel angle relative to the direction of the OCT scan beam.

Systems and methods for quantitative doppler optical coherence tomography

Systems, methods, and computer readable media for high-frequency contrast imaging and image-guided therapeutics are disclosed. According to one aspect a method for high frequency contrast imaging and image-guided therapeutics includes: providing ultrasound of a first frequency bandwidth, directed toward the volume to be imaged, the volume containing a carrier having non-linear acoustical properties, wherein the ultrasound of the first frequency bandwidth causes the carrier to generate ultrasound of a second frequency bandwidth that is different from the first frequency bandwidth; receiving, from the volume to be imaged, ultrasound of the second frequency bandwidth; and using the received ultrasound of the second frequency bandwidth to generate an image of the volume to be imaged, wherein the components of the second frequency bandwidth that are detected are of a frequency greater than 20 MHz. According to another aspect, ultrasound at a first frequency bandwidth enables imaging of a target, and ultrasound at a second frequency bandwidth mediates drug or gene delivery to a portion of the target, as guided by the image provided by the first frequency.

Systems, methods, and computer readable media for high frequency contrast imaging and image-guided therapeutics

Methods of acquiring an image are provided. The methods include deriving a first boundary surface from a volumetric image; deriving a second boundary surface, different and spaced apart from the first boundary surface, of the volumetric image, the first and second boundary surfaces defining a slice of the volumetric image therebetween; and deriving at least one intermediate thin section between the first and second boundary surfaces, the thin section having a thickness that is less than a thickness of the slice of the volumetric image defined by the first and second boundary surfaces. Systems and computer program products are also provided.
