Systems and methods for wireless charging of a battery pack. One system includes a plurality of battery packs and a wireless charger. Each of the plurality of battery packs includes a receiving antenna configured to convert an alternating current power to a charging current. The wireless charger includes an alternating current to direct current converter, a transmitter antenna configured to convert direct current power received from the alternating current to direct current converter to the alternating current power and transmit the alternating current power to each of the plurality of battery packs. The wireless charger also includes a communication circuit configured to transmit communication signals to an external device.

Electronic spindle lock for a power tool. One embodiment provides a power tool including a housing, a bit receiving portion provided on the housing for receiving a power tool bit, a motor within the housing configured to rotate the bit receiving portion, and a controller coupled to the motor. The controller is configured to enter an electronic spindle lock mode, and detect rotation of the bit receiving portion in a first direction. The controller is also configured to control motor to rotate in a second direction in response to detecting rotation of the bit receiving portion in the first direction.

The controller is configured to receive a control signal from the user input, control the power tool in response to the control signal, receive, from a sensor, a signal indicative of an operational characteristic of the power tool, and selectively provide energy from the auxiliary power source to a load of the power tool based on the operational characteristic of the power tool.

A gas engine replacement device includes a housing, a battery receptacle coupled to the housing and configured to removably connect to a battery pack having a memory storing battery pack configuration data, a motor located within the housing, a power take-off shaft receiving torque from the motor and protruding from a side of the housing, a power switching network configured to selectively provide power from the battery pack to the motor, and a first electronic processor coupled to the power switching network and configured to control the power switching network to rotate the motor. The first electronic processor is configured to receive the battery pack configuration data responsive to a connection of the battery pack to the battery receptacle and control the power switching network based on the battery pack configuration data.

A stator includes insulation including a back insulation portion covering a back stator portion, a first tooth portion covering a first tooth, a second tooth portion covering a second tooth. A first flange portion has a first face that is in facing relationship with the back insulation portion. A second flange portion has a second face that is in facing relationship with the back insulation portion. The first face and the second face together substantially defining a boundary plane, such that a cross-sectional slot area is defined between the back insulation portion, the first tooth portion, the second tooth portion, and the boundary plane. A plurality of conductive wires are arranged in the cross-sectional slot area, the wires defining a cross-sectional winding area within the cross-sectional slot area. A ratio of the cross-sectional winding area to the cross-sectional slot area is greater than or equal to 0.45.

Electric motor

A system, an electrical combination and a method for powering a load device. The combination may include a burst circuit configured to provide power to the load device to perform a burst operation, the burst circuit including a supercapacitor, a first switch between a power source and the supercapacitor and operable to control whether power is provided from the power source to charge the supercapacitor, and a second switch between the supercapacitor and the load device and operable to control whether power is provided from the supercapacitor to the load device; and an electronic processor configured to control the first switch and the second switch based at least in part on a voltage of the supercapacitor.

A battery pack, a method of heating a battery cell and an electrical combination. The battery pack may include a housing; a battery cell; a heating element operable to provide heat to the battery cell; a temperature sensing device operable to sense a temperature of an interior of the battery pack; a heating switch operable to control whether power is provided to the heating element; and an electronic processor configured to receive a signal from the temperature sensing device, the signal indicating the temperature of the interior of the battery pack, determine that the temperature of the interior of the battery pack is less than a predetermined temperature threshold, and in response to determining that the temperature of the interior of the battery pack is less than the predetermined temperature threshold, close the heating switch to provide power to the heating element.
