Provided herein are examples of bead worn supports, such as eyewear, configured to provide passive venting by providing pathways between a lens and a frame and/or by providing a smooth anterior profile to allow a laminar flow of air on an anterior surface of the lens. The pathways through the frame and lens of the eyewear can be configured such that they do not provide a direct path to the eye of a wearer. The headworn supports provided hemin can provide venting while reducing or preventing unwanted light, particles, or other debris from contacting the eye of the user. The headworn supports can also be configured to exhibit excellent ballistic performance.

Headworn supports with passive venting and removable lens

Disclosed herein are sports helmets having modular components. A modular component includes an eyewear adapter that is releasably attachable to the helmet and configured to interface with corresponding eyewear in an orientation that permits a wearer of the helmet to see through the eyewear. The eyewear adapter is configured such that, in use, the eyewear adapter enhances the fit or function of the eyewear relative to the use of the helmet and the eyewear without the eyewear adapter. A modular component includes electronics modules that can be mechanically and electrically coupled to the helmet. A modular component includes other functional modules that affect the aerodynamics of the helmet, the air flow of the helmet, the fit of the helmet, or the look of the helmet.

Eyewear is disclosed that can have multiple ventilation states providing different amounts of ventilation through the eyewear. The eyewear can include a lens and a frame. In some embodiments, the lens and/or frame can be moved with respect to the user to provide the multiple ventilation states. In some embodiments, the eyewear can include a nosepiece which is movable from at least a first configuration to a second configuration to provide the multiple ventilation states.

Headworn supports having dynamic venting systems

Provided herein are examples of headworn supports, such as eyewear, configured to provide passive venting by providing pathways between a lens and a frame and/or by providing a smooth anterior profile to allow a laminar flow of air on an anterior surface of the lens. Eyewear can be provided that comprises at least one lens, at least one earstem, and a frame with components that interconnect two or more components of the eyewear. The components can include an engagement structure of the lens and a coupling mechanism attached to the frame. The coupling mechanism can include a housing configured to receive the engagement protrusion and a lever mechanism being operative to move between open and closed positions for disengaging or engaging with the engagement protrusion.

Mounting mechanism for eyewear

A modular electronic communication system is disclosed with interchangeable components attachable on eyewear. A plurality of pre-existing eyewear models can each be retrofitted by attachment of one or more of such interchangeable components to that eyewear. Such components can be configured for custom attachment with a particular eyewear or such components can be configured for universal attachment with one or more different eyewear models. The communication system can be configured to produce an adjustable heads-up display for the wearer of the eyewear. The electronic communication system can comprise a plurality of interchangeable, electronically interconnected components, such as a first optical module, a first base module, a base link, a second base module, and/or a second optical module. In some embodiments, one or more or all of the components of the electronic communication system are integrally and permanently attached to an eyewear and are not interchangeable or modular.

Modular heads-up display system

Eyewear can be provided that comprises at least one lens, at least one earstem, and a retention assembly that interconnects the lens with the earstem. The retention assembly can include an engagement protrusion attached to the lens and a coupling mechanism attached to an end of the earstem. The coupling mechanism can include a housing configured to receive the engagement protrusion and a lever mechanism being operative to move between open and closed positions for disengaging or engaging with the engagement protrusion.

Eyewear can be provided that include at least a support and a retention system that allows the eyewear to be retained on an object separate from the eyewear. The support can include at least an earstem and a face. The retention system can include a retention member coupled to a portion of the support which can retain the object between the retention member and the support. The retention system can also include an actuation member which can transition the retention system, such as the retention member, from a retention configuration to an open configuration.

Eyewear retention devices and methods

Eyewear can be provided which includes a frame and at least one earstem that can be removably coupled to the frame. The frame and/or the earstem can include a retention assembly and/or an engagement structure. For example, the earstem can include at least one prong extending from an anterior end thereof and a latch component that can collectively engage an engagement structure of the frame.

Releasable earstem mounting mechanism for eyewear

Various embodiments of an eyeglass and eyeglass system are provided that can maintain the geometric and optical quality of a lens supported by the eyeglass. The eyeglass can comprise a frame, a support member carried by the frame, and a lens mounting area or groove extending at least partially along at least one of the frame and the support member. The support member can be pivoted, moved, or deflected relative to the frame between a retaining position and an open position. In the open position, the lens can be seated within the lens mounting area. In the retaining position, the support member and the frame retain the lens without exerting deformative forces on the lens. Accordingly, the as-molded geometric and optical qualities of the lens can be preserved.

Floating lens mounting system

Eyewear, such as a goggle, is provided that can include an anterior module (such as a lens support) and an interchangeable posterior module (such as a faceplate). The anterior module can be adapted to support at least one lens in a wearer's field of view. The posterior module can be adapted to fit against a contour of the wearer's face and can be selectively interchangeable with the anterior module to modify at least one physical characteristic of the eyewear. In some embodiments, the anterior and posterior modules can be coupled by a suspension assembly in order to allow articulation of the posterior module relative to the anterior module for evenly distributing forces against the wearer's face. Further, the anterior module can be rigid for maintaining the lens in an optically-desirable orientation. Furthermore, the goggle can comprise an interchangeable lens mechanism to facilitate interchanging of lenses in the goggle.

Eyewear with interchangeable lens mechanism

Eyewear is provided that can comprise a frame, a lens, and at least one lens retention mechanism that can secure the lens relative to the frame. The frame can support at least one lens in a field of view of a wearer. The frame can include a first ear stem and a second ear stem that allows the frame to be worn on the wearer's head. The retention mechanism can be supported by the frame and/or the lens and can be movable or fixed relative to the frame and/or the lens. In some embodiments, the retention mechanism comprises a latch device having an engagement structure that moves along a path of motion that intersects the lens. The retention component can engage an engagement portion of the lens to securing the lens relative to the frame.

Eyewear with lens retention mechanism

Eyewear is provided having a frame that can releasably engage a lens. The frame can have an engagement mechanism that includes an active restraint member and a passive restraint member. The active restraint member can have a first component and a second component that are operatively coupled together such that the first and second components rotate together between open and closed positions. The second component can also be configured to slide relative to the first component to engage a portion the frame when the first and second components are in the closed position to maintain the lens fitted against the frame.
