Urine collection device

A device for collecting urine discharged from a body of a user includes a fluid collection assembly having at least one layer for drawing urine discharged from the body into an interior cavity, an external covering that covers a portion of the at least one layer, and at least one fenestration for receiving urine, wherein the fenestration is a portion of the fluid collection assembly that is uncovered by the external covering. The device further includes a cap enclosing a first end of the assembly, a tube having a first end in fluid communication with the cap, and a shape retaining element configured to conform the assembly to a curved configuration and maintain the curved configuration until the configuration is adjusted. The assembly is configured to be disposed against the body of the user, with the at least one fenestration in operative relation with a urethral opening of the user.

Devices and methods for urine collection

A method of manufacturing a patient transfer system including obtaining an inflatable device, where the device includes a top sheet of material and a bottom sheet of material connected to the top sheet of material defining a cavity therebetween to be inflated. The device further includes a plurality of passages in the bottom sheet extending from the cavity to an exterior of the device, where the passages are configured to permit air to pass from the cavity to the exterior of the device. The device also including a plurality of inflation-limiting members connecting the top sheet and bottom sheet, and an input configured for receiving air to inflate the device. The method further includes providing an absorbent body pad with the inflatable device, the absorbent body pad configured to be positioned between the top sheet of material and a patient positioned on the inflatable device.

Patient transport apparatus

A system includes a pump having a filter. The filter includes a HEPA material configured for filtering air and the pump used to inflate an inflatable device configured to support a patient. A kit includes a pump configured for moving air to inflate an inflatable device, and a removable filter including a HEPA material couplable to the pump and configured to filter the air to inflate the inflatable device. A system includes an inflatable device having a top sheet of material and a bottom sheet of material, wherein the top sheet of material is connected to the bottom sheet of material thereby defining a cavity therebetween to be inflated. A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting and at least partially containing the pump, and an air output that includes a hose having a first end connected to the housing and in communication with the pump, such that the pump is configured to move air through the hose, and a second end configured for allowing air to exit the hose, wherein the hose has a length defined between the first and second ends. A switch is mounted on the hose and located along the length of the hose, and the switch is configured for controlling operation of the pump. The switch is located a distance from the second end of the hose that is less than 50% of the length of the hose.

A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting the pump, and an air output in communication with the pump. The apparatus further includes a power cord connected to the pump for providing electrical power to the pump and a standing base on a first end of the housing configured to support the pump apparatus in a standing configuration. The standing base includes a base mount configured for receiving and supporting at least a portion of the power cord wrapped around the base mount.
