A low profiled stent delivery system includes a balloon catheter with a balloon mounted at a first location, and a balloon expandable stent crimped about the balloon catheter at a second location. The stent expands from a crimped state to a less than fully expanded state responsive to movement of an auxiliary expander from a first configuration to a second configuration. An inner diameter of the stent in the less than fully expanded state is greater than an outer diameter of the balloon in a deflated state. After repositioning the balloon within the less than fully expanded state, the balloon is inflated to fully expand the stent.

Low profile stent delivery system and method

Textile balloon catheters, textile sleeves useful in balloon catheters, and methods of making balloon catheters are described. An example catheter includes an elongate shaft and a balloon movable between uninflated and inflated configurations, and a textile sleeve secured to the balloon. The textile sleeve has a plurality of warp threads and at least one weft thread extending circumferentially around the balloon. Circumferential loops in the portion of the textile sleeve that is secured to the body of the balloon are larger in diameter than circumferential loops in the portion of the textile sleeve that is secured to one or more of the proximal neck, distal neck, proximal cone and distal cone portions of the balloon.

Textile balloon catheters

A textile greige includes a plurality of woven medical tube textiles in a series that share a set of warp yarns and a first weft yarn. The medical tube textiles have different diameter segments such that less than all of the warp yarns are included in a small diameter segment of the medical tube textile. A diameter control weave of a second weft yarn is woven with segments of the warp yarns that are outside of the woven medical tube textiles. Later processing includes cutting the diameter control weave from the medical tube textile.

Variable diameter woven medical tube textiles and method of making same

Among other things, there is disclosed a biopsy needle system in which the needle is capable of obtaining more than one length of sample. Generally, the needle includes an inner stylet, an outer cannula, and a handle connected to the stylet and cannula. The stylet has a notch that is extendable from the cannula to accommodate a tissue sample. An insert member is provided for attachment to the handle to make the amount of exposed notch smaller. Consequently, when the insert member is not attached to the handle, the needle can obtain a larger sample of tissue, and when the insert member is attached to the handle, the needle can obtain a smaller sample of tissue.
