A laser detection system comprises a sample chamber configured to receive and contain a volume of sample gas, one or more lasers within at least one laser housing, wherein each laser is configured to produce a respective laser beam for excitation of one or more different materials in the sample gas and the one or more lasers are outside the sample chamber, a detector apparatus for detecting light output from the sample chamber, a first optical interface to the sample chamber having at least one window that is at least partially transparent to the laser beams from the one or more lasers, wherein the at least one laser housing is positioned in a close-coupling arrangement relative to the at least one window of the first optical interface such that, in use, the laser beams are substantially unmodified by passage between the laser housing and the at least one window.

Close-coupled analyser

A leak detection system comprising a substantially sealed accumulation chamber adapted to accommodate a single gas container, the accumulation chamber being sealed so that when a gas container is in the accumulation chamber gas leaked from that container accumulates. An optical detector is provided for detecting leaked gas, the detector including an optical cell. A controller directs a reference sample to the optical cell and subsequently directs a sample from the from the accumulation chamber to the optical cell. The optical detector is operable use both the reference sample and the accumulation chamber sample to detect leaked gas.

Leak detection of gas containers using an optical detector

A laser detection system comprises a plurality of lasers wherein each laser is configured to produce a respective laser beam for excitation of one or more different compounds, a sample cell for containing a volume of sample gas, at least one directing device configured to direct the laser beams to the sample cell, wherein the at least one directing device is configured to direct the laser beams along a common optical path to the sample cell, and a detector apparatus for detecting light output from the cell.
