A device performs laser-assisted processing of a material adhering to a substrate or of a substrate associated or substrate-free body or of its surface. The device has a positioning system enabling three translational and three rotational degrees of freedom and having a sample holder. The sample holder holds the substrate to which the material to be processed adheres or to which the body to be processed is associated or, in the absence of a substrate, the body to be processed. The device has a laser source emitting laser pulses and focusing optics which shape the laser pulses such that they impinge in a focal point or a focal volume in the region of the material or body to be processed in such a way that a two-photon or multi-photon polymerization takes place.

Device and method for laser-assisted processing of bodies or surfaces

The invention relates to a process for producing a structured shaped body or a layer of this type from a precursor of a metal oxide or mixed oxide selected from compounds of metals selected from among magnesium, strontium, barium, aluminum, gallium, indium, silicon, tin, lead and the transition metals. The process includes at least the following steps: (a) dissolving at least one compound of the at least one metal in an organic solvent and/or exchanging a ligand of the one or more dissolved metallic compounds for a stabilizing ligand, (b) adding a ligand that has at least one photochemically polymerizable group and at least one such group that allows a stable complex formation to the solution and forming a sol with or from the product of this reaction (precursor), (c) applying the sol on a substrate, and (d) exposing the sol anisotropically in such a way that a polymerization of the photochemically polymerizable groups takes place in the exposed areas.

Structured layers composed of crosslinked or crosslinkable metal-organic compounds, shaped bodies containing them as well as processes for producing them

The present invention relates to a device as well as a method for creating three-dimensional structures consisting of a material to be consolidated, in particular a material containing organopolysiloxane, by way of locally selective consolidation of the latter as a result of light-induced organic cross-linking. The device is characterized by a movable focusing optical system for the formation of one or a plurality of laser foci, wherein either the laser beam of a laser source can be introduced into the material to be consolidated through the material container and a movable carrier unit is arranged in said container or the focusing optical system is immersed into the material bath and the laser beams can be introduced into the material to be consolidated via a beam exit area of the focusing optical system. In the method, a focusing optical system that is movable in at least one plane is used for the formation of at least one laser focus, and a movable carrier unit is positioned in the material to be consolidated in one embodiment.

Device and method for creating three-dimensional structures

The present invention relates to an optical component, comprising a substrate having a substrate surface (), a radiation output element () situated on the substrate surface and/or a radiation input element () situated on the substrate surface and a beam deflection element () having dimensions of below 1 mm in all three spatial directions, which optical component is arranged on the radiation output or input element () on the substrate surface () and designed such that it deflects electromagnetic radiation exiting the radiation output element () substantially vertically with respect to the substrate surface () and in so doing forms a beam that has a smaller or even negative angle in comparison with the exit angle that the beam leaving the radiation output element forms with the substrate surface or is oriented parallel to the substrate surface, or that it focuses electromagnetic radiation entering the beam deflection element () at a particular angle with respect to the substrate surface and directs it into the beam input element, wherein the beam deflection element () has an entry area for entering radiation and an exit area for this radiation and has at least two areas influencing the path of the radiation passing through the element, one of said areas causing a deflection in at least some of the incident radiation and the other causing the beam divergence and/or the beam form to change, wherein at least one of the entry and exit areas of the beam deflection element is in planar form, characterised in that this planar area is located at least to some extent directly on an exit or entry area of said beam output or input element. The invention also relates to a method for producing this component and to beam deflection elements suitable therefor.

Optical component with beam deflection element, method for production thereof, and beam deflection elements suitable for the component

A package including optical components has one or more structures with optical input or optical output. An optical interconnection optically connects to the optical input or optical output of the structure(s). A component is provided in which the optical interconnection and the optical input or optical output of the structure(s) are embedded. The component is made of a first material and the optical interconnection of a second material. The first and second materials are chemically identical. The first material has a first primary and/or secondary structure and the second material has a second primary and/or secondary structure. The first primary and/or secondary structure is different from the second primary and/or secondary structure. The refractive indices of the component and of the optical interconnection differ from each other by at least 0.0004 at 850 nm, 1,310 nm, and 1,550 nm, respectively. The optical interconnection is mechanically fixed by the component.
