A rinsing station for removing residual materials from a fabric being dyed or bleached. The rinsing station includes a first pair of rinse spray nozzles. One of the first pair directed to spray a rinse fluid downwardly onto incoming dyed fabric. The other of the first pair directed to spray the rinse fluid upwardly onto the incoming dyed fabric. The rinsing station also includes a pair of nip rollers downstream for the first pair of rinse spray nozzles for extracting the rinse fluid.

A system and method are provided for dyeing fabric, the system including a dye spray station, a dye fixation station downstream of the dye spray station, and at least one rinse station downstream of the dye fixation station. The process includes opening the fabric with a spreader to maintain the fabric flat and taut, spraying the outer surfaces of the fabric with a dye, and exposing the fabric to atmospheric steam to chemically react and affix the dye to the fabric.

Processes for dyeing fabric are provided. The process can include continuously moving the fabric in a machine direction; removing folds or creases from the fabric; spraying a first surface of the fabric with a dye; and exposing the fabric to atmospheric steam after spraying the dye on the first surface but prior to the dye drying on the first surface so that the dye migrates from the first surface to a second surface of the fabric and reacts with and affixes to a component of the fabric.

Processes for spray dyeing fabrics

A method is provided for dyeing a nonwoven fabric comprising a blend of fibers to a single color shade. The method includes selecting a nonwoven fabric formed of a blend of polyester and nylon fibers, where the polyester fibers comprise about X percent by weight of the fabric and the nylon fibers comprise about Y percent by weight of the fabric. A single bath is formulated having about X percent by weight disperse dye and about Y percent by weight acid dye, adjusted for the desired color shade/depth. The nonwoven fabric is then dyed to obtain a dyed fabric having a single color shade of at least Grade 4 when measured in accordance with AATCC Test Method 153 and a colorfastness of at least Grade 4 when measured in accordance with AATCC Test Method 61.
