A self-guided racking assist system for charging a handgun includes a racking assist device that is adapted for self-guided sliding assembly with a barrel of the handgun via a guide rod member and a cylindrical member defining a cavity therebetween. When the racking assist device is seated on a support surface, the handgun may easily be pushed against the racking assist device to charge the handgun.

Air conditioning units packaged with condensing gas heat exchangers include a drain line connected to a collector attached to the heat exchanger. In different embodiments, the drain line, or a conduit for the drain line, may extend to the return duct opening for routing of the drain line through the return duct for disposal of the condensate, for instance, within the building, or the drain line may extend through a hole in the floor of the unit. The conduit may protect the drain line from direct heat from the heat exchanger, from freezing where the drain line passes through an outdoor section, or both. In some embodiments, air may be circulated through the conduit to prevent freezing. The conduit may guide the drain line through the unit, roof curb assembly, or roof, or the drain line may be routed through the unit by the manufacturer to the return duct opening.

Premix furnace for heating an occupied space while producing lower NOx emissions and methods of mixing air and fuel delivered to a premix burner and of improving combustion stability. A mixing device may be located within an inlet tube, may have a flat surface that is perpendicular to the direction of fuel flow, or may have two surfaces held at substantially opposite angles to induce swirl. A mixing device may be attached to the fuel injector, may be made from a piece of sheet metal, and may have bends and a hole for attachment to the fuel injector. A fluidic diode in the inlet tube may improve combustion stability and may include a hollow frustum or a frustoconical portion, a cylinder concentric with the inlet tube, or a combination thereof. Some embodiments include refractory insulation lining the combustion chamber or may adjust for elevation or fuel characteristics.

Premix furnace and methods of mixing air and fuel and improving combustion stability

A blower housing and method of manufacture includes a wrapper wall sheet conjoined with a first side wall and a second side wall and held together with a seam interlocked with mating protrusions and apertures. The housing design may utilize different types and thicknesses of conjoined materials, allows reuse of the components when separated, and a substantially smooth positive locking seam without the use of welds or fasteners.

An air filter has a generally rectangular frame having surfaces defining generally a plane, and a pair of parallel side rails and a pair of parallel end rails along outer edges of the plane-defining surfaces, the rails flaring outboardly at an obtuse angle from the plane when the frame is unconfined, one of the rails at each corner of the rectangular frame being provided with tabs, and the other, contiguous of the rails at the corner having an open end into which the tab extends. The tabs have an angled outer surface and are of a length compared with the height of the open end to be held against movement clear of the open end in every position of the rails when the frame is assembled, to limit the outward flare of the rails and to ensure that the corners of the rails are substantially closed in every position of the rails.

An improved blower housing is constructed of a pair of end walls and a sidewall joined by a seam extending around at least portions of the peripheral edges of the end walls, wherein the seam is formed in two sections positioned at an angle relative to each other, the angle dividing the seam sections extending around the seam. The angle formed between the two seam sections improves the ability of the seam to resist relative movement between the sidewall and the two end walls of the blower housing due to vibrations of the sidewall and two end walls during blower operations. The seam also enables a blower housing to be constructed from a coated sidewall and a pair of coated end walls without the need for spot welds or screws along the seam joining the sidewall and end walls. What is meant by coated is a prepainted, galvanized or aluminized wall. The particular seam construction also enables the sidewall to be joined to the pair of end walls without deforming the end walls.

A heat exchanger cell for a furnace is constructed of first and second cell divisions, each cell division having a general concave configuration and a rim extending around at least a portion of a circumference of the cell division. The first and second cell divisions are positioned adjacent each other and the rim of one cell division is folded over the rim of the other cell division and overlaps opposite sides of the rim of the other cell division forming a seam joining the first and second rims. A crease is formed in the seam joining the cell division rims and is spaced from a terminal edge of the seam. A plurality of indentations are formed in the seam traversing the crease and spaced from the terminal edge of the seam. The crease and plurality of indentations formed in the seam enable the seam to resist relative movement between the rims of the two cell divisions due to alternating heating and cooling of the cell divisions.

An evaporator pan assembly comprises an inner pan having walls defining a pan capable of containing water. An outer pan has walls surrounding at least most of the walls of the inner pan, and there is an air space between the inner pan and outer pan walls. One end wall of the inner pan is movable relative to the adjacent outer pan end wall.

A furnace heat exchanger and support plate assembly are joined together by a cooperating substantially elliptical rim defining an opening in the heat exchanger and an opening formed by a mating flange on a partition plate and extending perpendicular to the plane of the plate. The flange and the partition plate is inserted in the opening in the heat exchanger unit and expanded radially outward with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the openings by a multiple jaw expander mechanism which is inserted through the opening in the plate into the interior of the heat exchanger. The expander includes radially and axially moveable jaws comprising plural jaw segments which are engaged by an axially moveable mandrel. The number of jaws in the expander is sufficient to form a substantially leakproof seal between the exchanger unit and the support plate assembly in a single expander operation through a single bending sequence.

Method and expander for manufacturing a furnace heat exchanger and plate

A heat exchanger unit having opposed pan shaped sections with perimeter flanges which are folded one over the other to secure the sections together. The section having the inner flange is formed with a displaced flange portion or bead all along the perimeter flange portions, which bead is elastically displaced by the folded over flange to form a substantially leakproof joint.

A furnace heat exchanger and support plate assembly are joined together by a cooperating oval rim defining an opening in the heat exchanger and an opening formed by a mating flange on a partition plate and extending perpendicular to the plane of the plate. The flange on the partition plate is inserted in the opening in the heat exchanger unit and expanded radially outward with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the openings by a multiple jaw expander mechanism which is inserted through the opening in the plate into the interior of the heat exchanger. A second expander apparatus is inserted in the opening after withdrawal of the first expander to engage and expand portions of the flanges which were not fully displaced by the first expander. The expander mechanisms include radially and axially movable jaws comprising plural oval shaped jaw segments which are engaged by an axially movable mandrel.

Apparatus for manufacturing a furnace heat exchanger and plate assembly

A furnace heat exchanger and support plate assembly are joined together at respective openings for the burner assembly and for the combustion products outlet by an oval rim defining the heat exchanger opening and a cooperating flange on a partition plate and extending perpendicular to the plane of the plate. The flange on the partition plate is inserted in the opening in the heat exchanger unit and expanded radially outward with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the openings to form a leakproof joint. An improved method of forming the joint includes the use of an expander mechanism which may be inserted through the opening in the plate into the interior of the heat exchanger and engaged with the plate flange to expand the flange radially outwardly. A complete nonwelded furnace heat exchanger assembly includes one or more support members which are secured to flanges of the heat exchanger units without welding or mechanical fasteners.
