A system determining a location for a surgical procedure, the system including a jig having a frame, a first marker fixed to the frame, wherein the first marker includes a scanable label, and a second marker moveably connected to the frame, such that the second marker can move positions independent of the frame, and wherein the second marker includes a scanable label. The system also includes a mixed reality headset configured to scan the scanable label of the first marker and the scanable label of the second marker, to provide location data to the mixed reality headset.

System and method for location determination using movement between optical labels and a 3D spatial mapping camera

A system and method for determining a location for a surgical jig in a surgical procedure includes providing a mixed reality headset, a 3D spatial mapping camera, and a computer system configured to transfer data to and from the mixed reality headset and the 3D spatial mapping camera. The system and method also include attaching a jig to a bone, mapping the bone and jig using the 3D spatial mapping camera, and then identifying a location for the surgical procedure using the computer system. Then the system and method use the mixed reality headset to provide a visualization of the location for the surgical procedure.

A system for determining a location for a surgical procedure, having a 3D spatial mapping camera, the 3D spatial mapping camera configured to map a bone. The images also include data identifying a location of the marker. The system also includes a computer system that receives the data from the images captured by the 3D spatial mapping camera and determines a location of a mechanical axis of the bone, and a mixed reality display, where the computer system is configured to send the location of the mechanical axis to the mixed reality display and the mixed reality display is configured to provide a virtual display of the mechanical axis of the bone.

A system and method for determining a location for a surgical jig in a surgical procedure includes providing a mixed reality headset, a 3D spatial mapping camera, an infrared or stereotactic camera, and a computer system configured to transfer data to and from the mixed reality headset and the 3D spatial mapping camera. The system and method also include attaching a jig to a bone, mapping the bone and jig using the 3D spatial mapping camera, and then identifying a location for the surgical procedure using the computer system. Then the system and method use the mixed reality headset to provide a visualization of the location for the surgical procedure.

System and method for location determination using a mixed reality device and multiple imaging cameras

A system and method for generating a surgical instrument in a surgical procedure is disclosed. The method may include, attaching a grid to a portion of a patient's body and using a mixed or augmented reality system to produce a virtual instrument, or holographic representation of a physical instrument. The user can the manipulate the virtual instrument to a desired position on the patient's body, and using coordinates on a grid, identifies a desired location of the virtual instrument with respect to the patient's body. The user may then drill holes that correspond with the positioning of the virtual instrument and identified by coordinates on the grid, and the attach the physical instrument to the desired location using holes drilled at the identified coordinates.

System and method for generating a virtual jig for surgical procedures

A knee replacement, a kit for a knee replacement, and a method for performing a knee replacement are provided. A tibial fixed component of the knee replacement is configured to be permanently inserted into a resected tibia of a patient. A tibial modular component of the knee replacement is removably attachable to the tibial fixed component and has an upper surface to interface with a femoral component. The tibial modular component is removable from the tibial fixed component so that in the event that the fit of the knee replacement is not correct, the tibial modular component may be replaced with a differently sized tibial modular component without removing the tibial fixed component from the bone.

The method may also include adjusting the positioning apparatus in a varus/valgus orientation to shine a light emitted by a light emitter approximately along a midline of an anterior surface of the tibia, swinging a pivoting arm about a pivot joint to direct the emitted light along a medial surface of the tibia, adjusting the positioning apparatus in an anterior/posterior orientation to shine the light approximately along a midline of the medial surface, contacting a stylus with a proximal end of the tibia to select a cutting depth for a bone cut to be made on the tibia, and attaching the bone cutting guide to the tibia in a position determined by the positioning apparatus.
