A flexible seal for sealing between two adjacent gas turbine components includes a forward end, an aft end axially separated from the forward end, and an intermediate portion between the forward end and the aft end. The intermediate portion defines a continuous curve in the circumferential direction, such that the aft end is circumferentially offset from the forward end. In other cases, the forward and aft ends are axially, radially, and circumferentially offset from one another. A method of sealing using the flexible seal includes inserting, in an axial direction, the aft end of the flexible seal into a recess defined by respective seal slots of two adjacent gas turbine components; and pushing the flexible seal in an axial direction through the recess until the forward end is disposed within the recess.

A turbine nozzle for a gas turbine includes: an airfoil having an airfoil shape having a nominal profile substantially in accordance with at least a portion of Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in TABLE I. The Cartesian coordinate values are non-dimensional values of from 0% to 100% convertible to distances by multiplying the values by a height of the airfoil expressed in units of distance. The X and Y values are connected by smooth continuing arcs that define airfoil profile sections at each distance Z along at least a portion of the airfoil, and the airfoil profile sections at the Z distances are joined smoothly with one another to form the nominal profile.

An integrated combustor nozzle includes an inner liner segment; an outer liner segment; and a panel extending radially between the inner and outer liner segments. The panel includes a forward end, an aft end, and a side walls extending axially from the forward end to the aft end. The aft end defines a turbine nozzle having a trailing edge circumferentially offset from the forward end. The inner liner segment has a pair of sealing surfaces, each of which defines a first continuous curve in the circumferential direction. The outer liner segment has a pair of sealing surfaces, each of which defines a second continuous curve in the circumferential direction. In some instances, the curves are monotonic in the circumferential direction. A segmented annular combustor including an array of such integrated combustor nozzles is also provided.

An insert system for an airfoil plenum includes a first insert and a second insert that include a plurality of impingement openings defined therein. The first insert includes a forward-facing inlet opening. The second insert includes a neck portion having a radial-facing inlet opening, an aft opening, and a cavity in flow communication between the radial-facing inlet opening and the aft opening. The second insert is sized for insertion into the plenum radially through a plenum inlet such that the neck portion is positioned in the plenum inlet. The first insert is sized for insertion into the second insert radially through the radial-facing inlet opening. When the neck portion is positioned in the plenum inlet, the first insert is moveable aftward through the aft opening into an installed position such that the forward-facing inlet opening opens into the cavity.

A shroud segment arranged radially outward of a gas flow path of a gas turbine. The shroud segment includes a body having walls defining an internal pocket for receiving a supply of air. A plurality of pressurization apertures is formed through one of the walls to fluidly connect an internal pocket of the body to an ambient area of the body. A seal slot section is formed in the wall at a position radially inward of the pressurization apertures to receive a seal to connect the shroud segment to an adjacent shroud segment. The pressurization apertures are arranged such that portions of the supply of air are configured to pass through the pressurization apertures and through the seal slot section as leakage into the gas flow path, thereby reducing ingestion of fluid from the gas flow path into the internal pocket of the shroud segment.

The present application provides a turbine nozzle including an airfoil shape. The airfoil shape may have a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in Table I. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z are non-dimensional values from 0% to 100% convertible to dimensional distances in inches by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z by a height of the airfoil in inches. The X and Y values, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define airfoil profile sections at each distance Z. The airfoil profile sections at Z distances may be joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil shape.

Various embodiments of the invention include turbine nozzles and systems employing such nozzles. Various particular embodiments include a turbine nozzle having: an airfoil having: a suction side; a pressure side opposing the suction side; a leading edge spanning between the pressure side and the suction side; and a trailing edge opposing the leading edge and spanning between the pressure side and the suction side; and at least one endwall connected with the airfoil along the suction side, pressure side, trailing edge and the leading edge, the airfoil having a fillet at the trailing edge proximate the at least one endwall.

A late lean injection combustor assembly may include a first interior in which a first fuel supplied thereto is combustible, a flow sleeve annulus including a second interior in which a second fuel supplied thereto is combustible, at least one fuel injector disposed about the second interior, and at least one elongate premixing conduit disposed about the flow sleeve annulus and in fluid communication with the at least one fuel injector. The at least one elongate premixing conduit may be in fluid communication with a compressor discharge air and the second fuel such that the compressor discharge air and the second fuel are premixed within the elongate premixing conduit before entering the second interior by way of the at least one fuel injector.

Systems and methods for late lean injection premixing

An impingement sleeve and methods for designing and forming an impingement sleeve are disclosed. In one embodiment, the impingement sleeve includes a body configured to at least partially surround a transition piece of the combustor. The impingement sleeve further includes a plurality of cooling holes defined in the body, the plurality of cooling holes having a cooling hole pattern configured to provide a desired operational value for the transition piece. At least one of the plurality of cooling holes has a chamfer extending at least partially between an inlet and an outlet of the at least one of the plurality of cooling holes. At least a portion of the plurality of cooling holes are generally longitudinally asymmetric.

Impingement sleeve and methods for designing and forming impingement sleeve

A system for supplying a working fluid to a combustor includes a combustion chamber and a flow sleeve that circumferentially surrounds at least a portion of the combustion chamber. A tube provides fluid communication for the working fluid to flow through the flow sleeve and into the combustion chamber, wherein the tube comprises an axial centerline. A first set of injectors are circumferentially arranged around the tube and angled radially with respect to the axial centerline of the tube, wherein the first set of injectors provide fluid communication for the working fluid to flow through a wall of the tube.

System for supplying a fuel and a working fluid through a liner to a combustion chamber

A flowsleeve of a turbomachine component is provided. The flowsleeve includes an annular body including an upstream casing and a downstream casing. The upstream casing defines a fuel feed, and the downstream casing defines an airway opening, and a premixing passage. The premixing passage is fluidly coupled to the fuel feed and the airway opening and has a passage interior in which fuel and air receivable from the fuel feed and the airway opening, respectively, are combinable to form a fuel and air mixture.

A combustor nozzle includes a downstream surface having an axial centerline. A plurality of passages through the downstream surface provide fluid communication through the downstream surface, and a downstream section of each passage has at least one of a frusto-conical or frusto-spherical shape. A method for modifying a combustor nozzle includes machining a downstream side of a body to remove a recast surface in a plurality of passages that provide fluid communication through the body. The method may further include machining a downstream section in each passage to form at least one of a frusto-conical or frusto-spherical surface in each passage proximate to the downstream side of the body.

An impingement sleeve and methods for designing and forming an impingement sleeve are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for designing an impingement sleeve is disclosed. The method includes determining a desired operational value for a transition piece, inputting a combustor characteristic into a processor, and utilizing the combustor characteristic in the processor to determine a cooling hole pattern for the impingement sleeve, the cooling hole pattern comprising a plurality of cooling holes, at least a portion of the plurality of cooling holes being generally longitudinally asymmetric, the cooling hole pattern providing the desired operational value.

A combustor nozzle includes a downstream surface having an axial centerline. A plurality of passages extend through the downstream surface and provide fluid communication through the downstream surface. A plurality of slits are included in the downstream surface, and each slit connects to at least two passages. A method for modifying a combustor nozzle includes machining a plurality of slits in a downstream side of a body. The method further includes connecting each slit to at least two passages that pass through the body.
