A process variable transmitter is operably coupleable to a source of multiphasic process fluid flow. The process variable transmitter is configured to obtain information relative to temperature, a reference pressure, and differential pressure across a differential pressure producer in the multiphasic process flow. The process variable transmitter is configured to calculate and/or correct for overreading based upon the reference pressure, the differential pressure and the temperature.

Multiphasic overreading correction in a process variable transmitter

A process pressure fluid transmitter is coupled to a differential pressure producer and measures a differential pressure across the producer. A statistical parameter is calculated upon successive differential pressure indications, and the calculated parameter is used to indicate wet gas flow. The indication can be generated locally at the process pressure transmitter, communicated via a wired process communication loop, communicated wirelessly, or any combination thereof.

A venturi type of primary flow element comprising a tubular body defining a flow path having open ends and walls and including in series, a converging section, a cylindrical throat section, and a diverging section, where the bottom walls of each of said sections are in alignment and present a smooth unangled surface to flowing fluid therein.

A differential pressure measuring probe with an improved signal to noise ratio is provided. The probe includes a substantially flat longitudinally extending impact surface that is configured to create a dome of high pressure in the impacting fluid. The dome of high pressure provides an increased stagnation area on the impact surface to reduce noise in the measurement of impact pressure. A non-impact surface is provided with non-impact apertures to measure a non-impact pressure such that differential pressure between the impact surface and the non-impact surface can be calculated.

Noise reducing differential pressure measurement probe

A differential pressure measuring probe with an improved signal to noise ratio is provided. The probe includes an slit surface with at least one longitudinally extending impact aperture communicating with a first plenum within the body of the probe. The width of the aperture is selected to be less than the width of the interior portion of a first plenum. A non-impact surface is provided with non-impact apertures to measure a second pressure such that differential pressure between the impact surface and the non-impact surface can be measured.

Noise reduction differential pressure measurement probe

A device and method provide improved measurement of flow through an enclosed channel, such as a pipe. A flow measurement device, such as a differential pressure sensing pitot tube, includes a pressure sensing probe that is inserted into the pipe for measuring the rate of fluid flow therein. A compressible or elastic barrier is attached to the distal end of the sensing probe to fill the space between the tip end of the sensing probe and the nearby portion of the inside wall of the fluid carrying pipe. The resilient barrier prevents undesirable fluid flow between the tip end of the sensing probe and the inside wall of the pipe.
