An embodiment provides a method for measuring at least one characteristic of an aqueous sample, including: introducing an aqueous sample into a measurement device comprising one or more electrodes; oxidizing a transition metal to produce a higher valent metal by applying an electrical potential between an anode and a cathode of the measurement device; oxidizing, using the higher valent metal as a catalyst, a material within the aqueous sample; measuring a characteristic of the aqueous sample based upon the oxidized material, using a measurement device selected from the group consisting of: an electrochemical measurement device and an optical measurement device; and optimizing the electrical potential and at least one reagent delivered to the measurement device based on the measurement of the characteristic. Aqueous sample measurement via oxidizing metal to higher valence

An embodiment provides a method for measuring an analyte of a sample, including: introducing a sample to a sample region of a measurement device; the measurement device comprising: a measurement electrode and a ground electrode contacting the sample; a low-slope reference electrode in a reference electrode assembly having an electrolyte solution, wherein the electrolyte solution is in contact with the low-slope reference electrode; wherein the electrolyte solution is electrically coupled to the sample via at least one junction; and measuring a first potential between the measurement electrode and the ground electrode; measuring a second potential between the low-slope reference electrode and the ground electrode; determining an analyte in the sample by comparing the first potential and the second potential. Differential probe with low-slope component

An embodiment provides a method for real-time management of analyte recovery within a system for measuring at least one parameter of a fluid within the system by monitoring signals from the system against a set of conditions, the method including: receiving, from the system, signals providing information regarding the system, wherein the system includes at least one reagent flowing into the system and recovers analytes within the fluid, wherein the analytes provide an indication of a value of the at least one parameter; identifying, by analyzing the signals, whether the analyte recovery of the system is meeting the set of conditions identifying a desired analyte recovery of the system; and modifying, based upon the analyte recovery not meeting the set of conditions, conditions of the system for recovery of the analyte, wherein the modifying includes adjusting at least one parameter of the system.

Real-time management of analyte recovery

An embodiment provides a method for real-time management of device maintenance utilizing quality metrics defined based upon inputs of the device, the method including: receiving inputs corresponding to a particular device, wherein the particular device provides measurements of a parameter of a fluid; generating, from the inputs, quality metrics for and unique to the particular device; monitoring the particular device while the particular device is deployed, wherein the monitoring occurs in view of the quality metrics; and triggering, responsive to detecting information corresponding to the particular device is violating at least one of the quality metrics, a notification to a user to perform an action corresponding to the particular device.

Real-time management of device maintenance

The present invention provides a remote monitoring system for monitoring the operation of a fluid treatment system and/or the qualities, characteristics, properties, etc., of the fluid being processed or treated by the fluid treatment system. The present invention also relates to carbon nanotube sensors.

Carbon nanotube sensor

An ionic probe is provided according to the invention. The ionic probe includes an active electrode configured to generate a measurement signal for an external test fluid, a first reference electrode configured to generate a first reference signal, and an at least second reference electrode configured to generate at least a second reference signal. The measurement signal is compared to the first reference signal and the at least second reference signal in order to determine an ionic measurement of the external test fluid.

Multiple-electrode ionic probe

A unitary ionic probe is provided. The unitary ionic probe includes a substantially elongate body including a central axis (AA), a proximal end, and a distal end. The unitary ionic probe further includes an active ion sensitive region that is located on and bonded into an exterior of the elongate body in a region of the proximal end and an active electrode in ionic communication with the active ion sensitive region. The unitary ionic probe further includes a reference ion sensitive region that is located on and bonded into the exterior of the elongate body and is spaced-apart from the active ion sensitive region and a reference electrode in ionic communication with the reference ion sensitive region.

Unitary ionic probe

A semi-jacketed molded bullet having means integral with the bullet core for preventing separation of the core from the jacket is disclosed. The bullet is particularly adapted for use in revolvers and comprises a cup-shaped jacket having a small hole in the bottom portion. A small portion of the bullet core material extends through the hole and forms a retaining flange exterior a portion only of the bottom of the jacket. In one embodiment, an annular member having a diameter slightly larger than the jacket is provided behind the jacket and held in place by the retaining flange of core material. The method of construction of the bullet of this invention comprises placing the jacket member into a bullet mold with the hole in the base facing upwardly, placing the annular member, if desired, upon the jacket base, and pouring molten core material through the opening to fill the mold and produce a small degree of over-flow to form the retaining flange.
