An implant device is provided that is configured for implantation at multiple locations between adjacent vertebrae. The implant device comprises an implant body, a first portion of the implant body, and a second portion of the implant body adjustably interconnected with the first portion. The implant body has a compact orientation and an extended orientation to allow the implant body to be shifted from one orientation to the other orientation for being positioned in any one of areas between the spinous processes of the adjacent vertebrae, between laminar regions of the adjacent vertebrae, spanning an opening in the annulus between the adjacent vertebrae, and in the intervertebral space between the adjacent vertebrae.

Intervertebral implant devices and methods for insertion thereof

An intervertebral disc implant with upper and lower bearing members with an articulation interface between the members for providing relative motion therebetween. In one form, a securing member with an elongate shaft and a bone-engaging member on the shaft is disposed on one of the bearing members. The bone-engaging member is deployable into a bone-engaging position via rotational displacement of the shaft. In another form, a bone-engaging member is deployable via an actuator inserted into the implant body. In another form, the securing member secures an intervertebral implant in intervertebral space via deformation of the securing member causing a bone-engaging member of the securing member to be deployed into contact with an adjacent vertebra.

Systems and methods for securing an implant in intervertebral space

An implant device includes a pair of hook devices and an elongate guide device. The hook devices are configured to be disposed between and engage adjacent vertebral bodies. The elongate guide device is connected to the hook devices and allows for relative movement of at least one of the hook devices to adjust for the geometries of the vertebral surfaces to be engaged by the hook devices.

Implant apparatuses are provided for being inserted between adjacent vertebral bone portions and maintaining mechanical engagement with the vertebral bone portions. The implant apparatuses are generally constructed to be inserted in an insertion orientation and pivoted between the vertebral bone portions to an implanted orientation. The implant apparatuses are further secured in the implanted orientation to maintain engagement with the adjacent vertebral bone portions.
