A convertible walker is provided. The convertible walker can have a wheelchair configuration and a walker configuration to allow a user to alternately sit and stand, and can include a frame supporting an upper rest and a lower rest. A fall seat can be provided that is coupled to the lower rest and rotatable relative to the upper rest. The fall seat can break the fall of a user by rotating via the falling action of the user. In both the wheelchair and walker configurations, a torso support can retain the user in the convertible walker.

Convertible walker

A convertible wheelchair is provided. The convertible wheelchair can have a wheelchair configuration and a walker configuration to allow a user to alternately sit and stand, and can include a frame supporting a chair. The chair can be foldable and can include a chair back and a chair seat. The convertible wheelchair can include support and stability mechanisms accessible in the wheelchair configuration and the walker configuration including one or more torso supports, a fall seat, and stability bars.

Convertible wheelchair

A user assistance apparatus and system is disclosed. The apparatus and system may include a base and a platform rotatably positionable about the base. A lift assist chair may be disposed upon the platform, and handrails may be attached to the platform such that the handrails rotate with the platform. The handrails extend from the platform to define an entry, and the handrails are configured to assist a user as the user passes between the entry and the lift assist chair. Fixtures may be disposed in a generally curved arrangement to cooperate with the entry as the platform is rotatably positioned about the base. Related methods of use are also disclosed.

User assistance apparatus and methods

A wheelchair safety lock with a safety handle that is positioned such that the user of the wheelchair cannot enter or exit the wheelchair without moving the safety handle out of the way. When the safety handle is moved out of the way, the brake of the wheelchair is engaged against the wheels of the wheelchair. In order to operate the wheelchair, the safety handle is moved back into position after the user is seated. The safety handle extends in front of the user above the users lap when the user. is seated in the wheelchair. Therefore, the user cannot exit the wheelchair unless the safety handle is moved, thereby engaging the brake. Similarly, if the safety handle has been moved such that the brake is disengaged, the user can not enter the wheel chair because the safety handle is blocking the entrance. The safety handle must be moved in order to enter the wheelchair, thereby engaging the brake. The safety handle is also useful for the user to hold when declining a steep incline.

Wheelchair safety lock

Crop severing and gathering structure is pivotally connected to the forward end of a cotton row unit housing adjacent a row receiving area. A cutter severs the lower portion of cotton plants offset from the row receiving area of the row unit. A conveyer includes a pair of opposed belts with gripping features which embrace the lower portions of the stems of the cotton plants and move the severed plants in a generally upright position into the row of standing plants that is entering the row receiving area. The severed cotton plants intertwine with the standing row at the front of the housing as the conveyor moves the plants against one side of the row. The standing row with intertwined plants enters the row receiving area, and tandem picking drums located on the same side of the row as the severing and gathering structure remove cotton from both the standing row and the severed plants. The opposed belts have surfaces which enhance the gripping and conveying of the severed plants, and rotating brushes above the cutters help gather and hold the plants in the upright position for cutting. The pivotal connection allows the severing and gathering structure to be adjusted to the desired lateral position for a given plant spacing and to be lifted out of the way for convenient access to areas in and near the housing, including access to the row unit door structure. Plant gatherers at the leading end of the severing and gathering structure can be adjusted for alignment with the forward direction when the lateral position of the structure is adjusted for different plant spacings.

Narrow row cotton harvester

A self-aligning row crop spraying device includes a parallelogram-shaped device comprised of a pair of guide support members disposed parallel to each other and a pair of transverse members also parallel to each other. One of the transverse members is fixed to a structure allowing the remainder of the parallelogram-shaped device to move freely about the transverse member. A pair of guide members form a channel for receiving plants. The device allows a spray nozzle to remain aligned with a row of crops throughout the spraying process.

Self-aligning row crop spraying device

An apparatus for controlling the horizontal and vertical orientation of a boom assembly. An elongated frame assembly adapted to be mounted to a vehicle has a cam plate mounted to and moveable therealong. Hydraulic drive means controls the movement of the cam plate between fully extended, intermediate, and fully retracted positions. A hinge plate assembly is rotatably mounted to the frame assembly and an elongated boom, such as an agricultural spray boom, is pivotably mounted to the hinge plate so that the boom is vertically adjustable relative to the ground. The cam plate is adapted to engage the hinge plate and the boom in such a way that when the cam plate is moved along the frame assembly between the fully extended and intermediate positions, it adjusts the boom height relative to the ground and when the cam plate is moved between the intermediate and fully retracted positions, it causes the hinge plate to rotate about its pivot axis, thereby swinging the boom toward and into its retracted (traveling) position.
