A hand tool comprising a first handle member with integral jaw, a second handle member, and a third jaw member, all three members pivotally connected by a single common pivot pin. All three members are also cooperatively connected by a force multiplying mechanism, wherein an operative force applied to the handles is multiplied and applied to a work piece by the jaws. One embodiment of the invention features a &ldquo;U&rdquo;-shaped handle with two common pivot pin connection points, providing structural strength and handling stability. Other embodiments also comprise power assist devices to provide electrical and pneumatic work piece manipulation forces.

Force multiplication hand tool

An apparatus for selectively gripping and rotating a part includes a selectively rotatable drive shaft assembly, a draw bar assembly and an expandable media positioned therebetween. Axial movement of the draw bar assembly relative to the drive shaft assembly selectively compresses the expandable media to radially expand the same for gripping the part and for coupling the draw bar assembly to the drive shaft assembly, thereby permitting the gripped part to be rotated. The apparatus preferably includes an adjustable metering valve to apply sealant to horizontally oriented threads on the part and further includes a wiper to distribute sealant along the threads and to uniformly spread the remaining sealant into the thread grooves.

Apparatus and method for selectively gripping and rotating a part

A separable hinged orthodontic, dental tool that includes a pair of scissor halves, each half having a handle portion, a nose portion and a substantially identical hinge portion, each hinge portion including at least one female mating section and one male mating section for engagement with a corresponding male and female mating section, respectively, on the other scissor half.

Orthodontic, medical, dental tool

A system for trimming the edges of a metal strip and chopping the trimmed metal into small pieces. The system includes an automatic twin-edge trimmer, two chutes fastened to the trimmer and a scrap chopper. The twin-edge trimmer comprises two sets of coacting rotary slitter knives, one set for each edge of the strip and a backup roll adjacent to each knife in order to hold the strip flat while the cuts are being made. There are two mirror image chutes, each of which receives trimmings from one edge of the strip. Each chute is shaped and fastened to the trimmer in such a way that it completely surrounds the trim cut by the edge trimmer. The chutes are inclined downwardly at an angle with respect to the plane of the strip that matches that of the trimmings. The scrap chopper receives trim from both chutes and cuts the trim into small pieces. One edge trimmer is mounted for lateral movement with respect to the strip during trimming to provide an 'on-the-fly' adjustment in the width of the strip thus trimmed.

A new improved steering, propelling and skirting means is provided for air cushion type vehicles. The steering, propelling or skirting means is biased to maintain contact with the underlying support surface thereby providing dramatic improvements in the response for steering and propelling the vehicle, as well as reduction in fluid loss with respect to the vehicle skirting means.

Extensible steering, propulsion and skirting means for ground effect

A fluid propelled ground effect vehicle lifted by pressurized fluid directed upwardly through openings in a support floor. The vehicle body is propelled across the support floor by exiting pressurized fluid trapped in a receiving chamber underneath the vehicle body and discharged through an outlet in the chamber. The vehicle body is steered by controlling the direction of exit of the pressurized fluid as it leaves the receiving chamber.
