A terminal block is disclosed that includes a terminal body housing, a plurality of conductive elements arranged within the terminal body to create a continuous electrical path therethrough, and a disconnect switch integral the terminal body, the switch arranged to open the continuous electrical path and expose a terminal.

A terminal block is disclosed that integrates a surge protection base, a disconnect and connection points to provide a Kelvin connection in which a surge protection element is in electrical communication with the ground and the connection points for incoming and outgoing wires. The terminal block includes a terminal body having a terminal body housing, a plurality of conductive elements arranged within the terminal body to create a continuous electrical path therethrough and a disconnect switch integral the terminal body, the switch arranged to open the continuous electrical path and expose a terminal. The terminal body is configured to receive a surge protection element and the surge protection element, when received in the terminal body, forms a portion of the continuous electrical path.

An electrical connector assembly includes a receptacle, a first ground plane partitioning the receptacle, a plug configured to mate with the receptacle, and a second ground plane partitioning the plug. Each of the first and second ground planes are in mechanical and electrical contact with one another when the plug is mated to the receptacle.

An electrical connector of controlled impedance includes a housing on which are mounted consecutive signal transmission line pairs in consecutive reverse order, each signal transmission line pair being provided by a pair of signal contacts in one contact row opposing a ground contact in another contact row and by having the consecutive signal transmission line pairs in reverse order, the signal contacts of each signal transmission line pair are arranged consecutively with an adjacent ground contact of another signal transmission line pair of reversed order, which minimizes cross talk between different pairs of signal contacts and which provides maximized areas surrounding the signal contacts and the ground contacts for routing circuit paths.
