Antimicrobial compositions and methods for depositing or coating the antimicrobial or antibacterial compositions on a substrate to prevent microbial adhesion are provided. The antimicrobial composition may include a cationic polymer having a poly-allylamine backbone. A portion of the poly-allylamine backbone may be functionalized with at least one of a guanidine functional group and a biguanide functional group.

Oral care compositions and methods for anti-attachment polymers and coatings

The invention provides compositions comprising a plurality of polymer layers for preventing or inhibiting microbial infections. Specifically, the invention provides a combination of a cationic polymer layer that resists adhesion of a microbe to its surface and an anionic polymer layer that releases a cationic anti-microbial agent in response to a change in pH or electrostatic balance.

The invention relates to a multifunctional chitosan grafted surface. Specifically, the invention relates to a chitosan modified with a quaternary ammonium salt (CH-Q) grafted surface that provides various functional properties, including stability (pH 3-9) and unique pH dependent swelling and antibacterial properties.

Multifunctional chitosan grafted surfaces and uses thereof

The present invention relates to a hybrid graft and methods of generating the hybrid graft. The hybrid graft comprises an exterior surface and a luminal surface. The luminal surface comprises a micropattern of grooves to which cells adhere and orient along. The exterior surface comprises electrospun microfibers wherein the microfibers provide mechanical properties to the graft. The hybrid graft is capable supporting endothelial cell attachment, endothelial cell alignment, cell proliferation, and maintaining their in vivo function. The graft of the invention can recapitulate the in vivo morphology and function of natural vascular endothelium.
