A method for maintaining possession of a firearm includes the steps of transmitting a signal between a first transceiver coupled to a firearm and a second transceiver of a secondary carry implement. The secondary carry implement has an alert component. The alert component is activated when a predetermined proximity between the firearm and the secondary carry component is exceeded. The predetermined proximity is inferred from signal strength from the first transceiver that is detected by the second transceiver.

A medical imaging and therapy device is provided that may include any of a number of features. One feature of the device is that it can acoustically couple an ultrasound therapy transducer to a patient. In some embodiments, the medical imaging and therapy device is configured to conform to the anatomy of a patient's perineal area to acoustically couple an ultrasound therapy transducer to the patient for treatment of BPH. The medical imaging and therapy device can be used in therapeutic applications such as Histotripsy, Lithotripsy, and HIFU, for example. Methods associated with use of the medical imaging and therapy device are also covered.

A filler tube assembly for use in a system having vapor recirculation includes a check valve having a flapper that is responsive to the viscosity of fluid around the flapper and/or a differential pressure across the flapper. The assembly also includes a nozzle chamber formed in the filler neck that has a constant diameter to ensure consistent vacuum generation regardless of fuel nozzle length.

A protective cover for a filler neck is designed to discriminate between different sizes of fuel nozzles. The cover includes a body portion and a movable door that covers and exposes an opening in the filler neck. The body portion has a pair of spaced body protrusions that form a gate, and the door has a ledge that may also be formed by a pair of spaced door protrusions. The protrusions on the door can be easily moved to an open position by pressing a tip of a fuel nozzle against the protrusions. The gate and the ledge are configured so that they can accommodate the fuel nozzle for only one type of fuel.

A failed nozzle relief (FNR) valve has a resetting mechanism that resets the valve when a filler cap is replaced over the filler cup. The FNR valve has an annular seal that surrounds a filler neck opening. The annular seal seats against a ring having at least one aperture that creates an alternative fluid flow path. During a failed nozzle shutoff condition, the annular seal separates from the ring, opening the aperture to allow fluid to flow through it. The FNR valve also has a reset lever that is pressed downward when the filler cap is replaced, thereby forcing the seal back against the ring.

A vapor vent/tipping valve has a diaphragm with a bleed therethrough responsive to the differential pressure of bleed flow to control vapor venting to the canister and vapor recirculation to the filler tube. A dip tube causes rising fuel in the tank to close the dip tube and prevent vapor flow to the diaphragm bleed thereby starving the recirculation line and allowing nozzle discharge to create a vacuum in the filler and effect nozzle shutoff. Alternatively, float operated shutoff valves may be employed in the dip tube and vapor vent chamber inlet, the shutoff valves may include inertial members for closing the float valves to afford tipping/rollover protection.

A cover for a filler neck includes a body portion and a movable protective door that covers and exposes an opening in the filler neck. The protective door includes a ledge that protrudes from the plane of the door so that the door can be easily moved to an open position by pressing a tip of a fuel nozzle against the door. The door itself may be biased to move into a closed position automatically when the fuel nozzle is removed from the ledge.

A vehicle refueling system and a vehicle refueling method are disclosed. The refueling system includes a filler cup, a nozzle seal in the filler cup for sealing to a filler nozzle, a vapor re-circulation path from the gas tank to the filler cup, and an air relief module. The air relief module provides additional air to the filler cup region below the nozzle seal when the vapor re-circulation path does not provide sufficient make-up air to the filler nozzle during refueling operations. The refueling method includes providing air through an air relief module when the vapor flow through the vapor re-circulation path is not sufficient to perform a refueling operation.

The float has an elastomeric valve disk with an annular bead rim caged for limited lost motion movement on the top of the float. A rigid backing plate for the valve disk is pivoted on a curved surface on the top of the float to ensure self-alignment of the valve disk on the vent port seat when the float is moved upward by the rising liquid level for closing the vent during refueling. As fuel is used from the tank, the float drops and the angled top of the cage contacts the bead rim on the valve disk and effects a peel-away re-opening of the valve.
