A superconducting connecting system includes an anti-fuse structure. There is a first superconducting trace having a first segment that is cantilevered over a cavity a substrate. A second superconducting trace having a second segment is cantilevered over the cavity in the substrate. A first auxiliary segment is coupled to the first segment and suspended over the cavity. A second auxiliary segment is coupled to the second segment and suspended over the cavity. The first segment and the second segment face each other and have a predetermined gap therebetween. The first segment and the second segment are configured to receive an output of a laser. An amount of material of the first and second auxiliary segment is based on creating a fuse ball joint that provides an electrical short between the first superconducting trace and the second superconducting trace, upon receiving the output of the laser.

Anti-fuse and fuse structures for improving the functionality of qubit circuits

Devices and/or computer-implemented methods to facilitate a programmable and/or reprogrammable quantum circuit are provided. According to an embodiment, a device can comprise a superconducting coupler device having a superconducting fuse device that is used to alter the coupling of a first quantum computing element and a second quantum computing element.

Programmable and reprogrammable quantum circuit

A structure of a circuitry substrate for securing an area from tampering is disclosed. The structure includes a circuitry substrate with at least one of a top tamper enclosure and a bottom tamper enclosure covering a component in a protected area of the circuitry substrate. The top and bottom tamper enclosures are adhesively bonded to a surface of the circuitry substrate, and a tear initiation site is added to a side of the perimeter of circuitry substrate bordering the protected area that includes at least one tamper enclosure, such that the tear initiation site is located and configured to enable propagation of a delamination of at least one internal layer of the circuitry substrate and a severing of a security circuit when a removal force is applied to the at least one of the top tamper enclosure and the bottom tamper enclosure.

A method of constructing a superconducting switch includes depositing a thin sacrificial layer on top of a substrate. The sacrificial layer is patterned to remove portions of the sacrificial layer except at a first portion of the substrate. A superconducting metal layer is patterned on top of the substrate and on top of the sacrificial layer. The superconducting metal layer is patterned to form a superconducting metal line over the sacrificial layer. The patterned sacrificial layer is etched from under the superconducting metal line to release the metal line from the substrate.

An electronic component includes a first trace configured to transmit a first signal and a second trace configured to transmit a second signal. The electronic component further includes a layer of conductive material separated from the first and second traces by a layer of insulative material. The electronic component further includes a first vertical wall formed in direct contact with the layer of conductive material. The electronic component further includes a second vertical wall formed in direct contact with the layer of conductive material. The second vertical wall is separated from the first vertical wall by a void, and the void extends between the first trace and the second trace.

The subject disclosure is directed towards layered substrate structures with aligned optical access to electrical devices formed thereon for laser processing and electrical device tuning. According to an embodiment, a layered substrate structure is provided that comprises an optical substrate having a first surface and a second surface and a patterned bonding layer formed on the second surface that comprises a bonding region and an open region, wherein the open region exposes a portion of the second surface. The layered substrate structure further comprises a device chip bonded to the patterned bonding layer via the bonding region and comprising at least one electrical component aligned with the optical substrate and the open region. The at least one electrical component can include for example, a thin film wire, an air bridge, a qubit, an electrode, a capacitor or a resonator.

Layered substrate structures with aligned optical access to electrical devices

Systems and techniques that facilitate trimmable inductors for qubit frequency tuning are provided. In various embodiments, a device can comprise a Josephson junction. In various aspects, the Josephson junction can be shunted by a capacitor, and a trimmable inductor can couple the Josephson junction to a pad of the capacitor. In various cases, the trimmable inductor can comprise a first conductive path that includes a severable and/or weldable superconducting bridge and a second conductive path that is in parallel with the first conductive path. In various aspects, severing and/or welding the severable and/or weldable superconducting bridge can controllably change an inductance of the trimmable inductor, which can commensurately change a resonant frequency of a qubit formed by the Josephson junction and the capacitor.

Trimmable inductors for qubit frequency tuning

A tamper detection system may include organic material and a tamper detection circuit embedded in the organic material. A portion of the organic material is ablated away to form an incision in the organic material. A portion of the tamper detection circuit obstructs a fragment of the ablation path. The tamper detection circuit remains intact. The incision enables a gas flow between a first side of the organic material and a second side of the organic material.

Secure ventilation through protective flexible sensors

Techniques for quantitative colorimetric liquid analysis with color and turbidity correction are provided. In one aspect, an optical detector includes: a vessel for containing a liquid sample; a light source on a first side of the vessel; a first sensor on a second side of the vessel opposite the first side and along a light path of the light source; and a second sensor on a third side of the vessel at an angle &#x3b8; with respect to the light path. A method for quantitative measurement of an analyte is also provided, as is a method for color and turbidity analysis.

Optical sensor system for quantitative colorimetric liquid analysis

Techniques for colorimetric based test strip analysis and reader system are provided. In one aspect, a method of test strip analysis includes: illuminating a test strip wetted with a sample with select spectrums of light, wherein the test strip includes test pads that are configured to change color in the presence of an analyte in the sample; obtaining at least one digital image of the test strip; and analyzing color intensity from the at least one digital image against calibration curves to determine an analyte concentration in the sample with correction for one or more interference substances in the sample that affect the color intensity. A calibration method and a reader device are also provided.

Accurate colorimetric based test strip reader system

An apparatus having a spectrometer and techniques for use thereof for efficient and effective point-of-care diagnostics are provided. In one aspect, a device is provided. The device includes: an intake port; fluidic channels connecting the intake port to a detecting chamber(s), wherein the detecting chamber(s) is configured to permit optical measurements of a fluid sample; a vent leading away from the detecting chamber(s); and a liquid blocker between the detecting chamber(s) and an opening of the vent, wherein the liquid blocker permits air to pass therethrough while at the same time restricting liquid flow. A method for analyzing a fluid sample is also provided. The method includes: introducing the fluid sample to the device; contacting the fluid sample with a reagent(s) prior to the fluid sample entering the detecting chamber(s); and making optical measurements of the fluid sample in the detecting chamber(s).

Analysis apparatus with spectrometer

Techniques for high speed handling of ultra-small chips (e.g., micro-chips) by selective laser bonding and/or debonding are provided. In one aspect, a method includes: providing a first wafer including chips bonded to a surface thereof; contacting the first wafer with a second wafer, the second wafer including a substrate bonded to a surface thereof, wherein the contacting aligns individual chips with bonding sites on the substrate; and debonding the individual chips from the first wafer using a debonding laser having a small spot size of about 0.5 &#x3bc;m to about 100 &#x3bc;m, and ranges therebetween. A system is also provided that has digital cameras, a motorized XYZ-axis stage, and a computer control system configured to i) control a spot size of the at least one laser source and ii) adjust a positioning of the sample to align individual chips with a target area of the laser.

High speed handling of ultra-small chips by selective laser bonding and debonding

A submersible sensor device configured as a small pellet for testing biological and other liquid samples is provided. In one aspect, a sensing device includes: a housing; and one or more sensors contained within the housing, wherein the housing hermetically seals the sensors such that the sensing device is fully submersible in a liquid analyte. A method and system for analysis of a liquid sample using the present sensing device are also provided.

Smart pellet for sample testing

Techniques for optical analysis of fluid samples using sensors and water enhancing agents for in-line measurements with a continuous flow of the fluid samples are provided. In one aspect, a device includes: at least one reagent dispenser located at an introduction point along a conduit, the conduit being configured to contain a flow of a fluid sample; at least one first detector located at a first detection point along the conduit downstream from the introduction point; and at least one second detector located at a second detection point along the conduit downstream from the first detection point, wherein the at least one first detector and the at least one second detector are configured to make optical measurements of the fluid sample. A method employing the device is also provided.
