Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for obtaining at least one bodily function measurement are presented. A mobile device includes an outer body sized to be portable for user, a processor contained within the outer body, and a plurality of sensors physically coupled to the outer body. The sensors are configured to obtain a first measurement indicative of blood volume and a second measurement indicative of heart electrical activity in response to a user action. A blood pressure measurement is determined based on the first measurement and the second measurement. The sensors also include electrodes where a portion of a user's body positioned between the electrodes completes a circuit and a measurement to provide at least one measure of impedance associated with the user's body. A hydration level measurement is determined based on the measure of impedance.

System and method for obtaining bodily function measurements using a mobile device

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for beam management in a wireless communication system are presented. In some embodiments, a beam management subsystem in a moveable device selects a first antenna array and forms a first beam using the first antenna array for sending and receiving communication signals from a base station or other transceiver. A communication signal processing subsystem receives a first communication signal via the first beam. Upon movement of the moveable device, an inertial navigation subsystem determines a rotation vector associated with the movement. In response to the inertial navigation subsystem determining the rotation vector, the beam management subsystem selects a second antenna array using the rotation vector and forms a second beam directed toward the base station using the second antenna array. The communication signal processing subsystem can receive a second communication signal via the second beam.

Techniques for using rotation vectors for beam management in high frequency wireless networks

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for micro actuators are presented. In some embodiments, a micro actuator can comprise a substrate coupled to an actuation member. A corrugating portion of the substrate in a first state can be uncontracted to form a substantially planar surface and in a second state can be contracted along a dimension parallel to the planar surface. The actuation member can be at least partially rigid. The micro actuator can be configured to move the actuation member relative to the corrugating portion upon a change in state of the corrugating portion. At least a layer of the substrate can be unitary and the actuation member can include at least a portion of the layer. The substrate can comprise a conducting polymer film.

Disclosed embodiments pertain to cardiovascular parameter (e.g. heart rate) measurements when motion is present. Biometric sensor signal measurements may be obtained based on cardiovascular parameters of a user; and motion sensor signal measurements may be obtained based on user motion. An activity type may be determined based on the motion sensor signals. For example, when non-motion related frequencies in a frequency domain representation of the biometric sensor signal are obscured by user motion, an activity type may be determined based on the motion sensor signals. Further, based on the activity type, for each cardiovascular parameter (e.g. heart rate), a corresponding likely cardiovascular parameter value (e.g. a likely heart rate) may be determined. A corresponding fundamental frequency associated with the biometric sensor signal may then be determined for each cardiovascular parameter based on the motion sensor signal measurements and the corresponding likely cardiovascular parameter value.

Cardiovascular parameter estimation in the presence of motion

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for obtaining blood pressure measurements are presented. The blood pressure measurements may be obtained by determining a pulse-transit time (PTT) as a function of a photoplethysmography (PPG) measurement and electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement. A mobile device includes outer body sized to be portable for a user of the mobile device. The mobile device also includes a plurality of light emitting components distributed along at least one portion of the mobile device and a plurality of light collecting components configured to measure reflected light from the plurality of light emitting components reflected off of blood vessels within the user. The light emitting and light collecting components are distributed along the at least one portion of the mobile device. The mobile device may also include a light guide configured to direct light emitted by the at least one light emitting component toward blood vessels with the user.

System and method for obtaining blood pressure measurement

Disclosed are systems, devices, and methods for compensating for roll blur in an optical image stabilization (OIS) module. An OIS controller receives a selection for one or more areas of interest (AOI), each AOI associated with an image optimization point (IOP), and each IOP is associated with an X position (X) and a Y position (Y). The OIS controller receives gyroscope data comprising X axis rotation data (X), Y axis rotation data (Y) and Z axis rotation data (Z). The OIS controller generates adjusted X axis rotation data (X) and Y axis rotation data (Y), wherein Xand Ybased on the Z axis rotation data and the one or more IOPs and adjusts lens shift gain on the basis of Xand Yand adjusts lens movement based at least in part on the lens shift gain.

Optical image stabilization method and apparatus

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for estimating a user's heart rate using a PG signal are presented. In some implementations, the heart rate is estimated by computing a frequency-domain PG, identifying one or more features in the frequency-domain PG, selecting qualified features from the one or more features, and constructing one or more traces. In some implementations, an accelerometer signal can be used for motion cancellation to eliminate traces that are motion artifacts.

Estimating heart rate by tracking optical signal frequency components

Examples of monolithic integrated emitter-detector array in a flexible substrate for biometric sensing and associated devices and methods are disclosed. One disclosed example device includes a flexible substrate; a first array of emitters embedded in the flexible substrate, the first array of emitters configured to emit first electromagnetic (EM) signals; a first array of detectors embedded in the flexible substrate, the first array of detectors configured to detect reflections of the first EM signals; a first scanning circuit coupled to the first array of emitters, the first scanning circuit configured to selectively activate individual emitters of the first array of emitters; and a first sensing circuit coupled to individual detectors of the first array of detectors, the first sensing circuit configured to receive a detection signal from at least one of the detectors of the first array of detectors.

Monolithic integrated emitter-detector array in a flexible substrate for biometric sensing

Disclosed embodiments pertain to the measurement of heart rate in the presence of motion and noise. Spectral peaks in measurements by an optical sensor are compared with spectral peaks obtained from a motion sensor signal measurements, to obtain a fundamental frequency in the optical sensor signal, where the fundamental frequency is associated with a user's heart rate. A first heart rate may be estimated based on the fundamental frequency. A variety of quality metrics may be determined for the first heart rate estimate. A second estimated heart rate may be determined based by processing a frequency domain representation of the optical sensor signal based on a frequency domain representation of the motion sensor signal. One or more of the previously determined quality metrics may be dynamically adjusted based on a comparison of first and second estimated heart rates.
