An integrated automated idle reduction system is disclosed. The system may include an APU and various controllers providing automation. The system may enable automating features, such as automatically controlling various power sources, engine start, engine stop, the APU, and accessory systems. The APU may be an engine, battery and/or other power source that is selectably connectable to vehicle systems to provide electrical power while the OEM engine of the vehicle is not running. The APU may also provide electrical power while the OEM engine is not running. Additionally, the APU may drive an air conditioning compressor while the OEM engine is not running, such as to keep the cab of a vehicle cool. Prior cold starting the OEM engine, the APU may warm engine coolant, and the integrated automated idle reduction system may circulate the warmed coolant through the OEM engine in preparation for starting.

Integrated automated idle reduction system and method

Efficient fuel combustion catalyst delivery device and method are provided. A fuel combustion catalyst delivery device includes a storage vessel that contains a liquid. The liquid includes one or more catalytic materials. The storage vessel is attached to a nebulizer that can convert the liquid to an aerosol to be delivered into an air intake of a combustion zone. The aerosol can accelerate fuel combustion. The storage vessel and the nebulizer are made from materials suitable to be exposed to the liquid and the aerosol. The storage vessel and the nebulizer are also suitable to be placed in proximity to the combustion zone such as an engine compartment so that the aerosol can be delivered into the air intake of the combustion zone easily and effectively. The surfaces of the delivery device exposed to the liquid or the aerosol may be made of corrosion-resistant or inert materials if the liquid is acidic. The surfaces of the delivery device exposed to the liquid or the aerosol may be also made from materials that produce substantially no contaminants into the liquid. The nebulizer may convert the liquid to an aerosol at a rate between once per second and one hundred times per second. The nebulizer may have holes for passing the liquid where each of the holes has a size not greater than about 10 &#x3bc;m. The delivery device can deliver up to 500 ml or more of liquid as aerosol over 500 hours of operation.

Fuel combustion catalyst microburst aerosol delivery device and continuous and consistent aerosol delivery device

Efficient and effective fuel combustion catalyst delivery apparatus is disclosed. A fuel combustion catalyst delivery apparatus may include a receptacle containing a material such as a liquid. The liquid may include one or more catalytic materials. The apparatus may further include a vibration pump configured to convert the liquid to an aerosol to be delivered into an intake air of a combustion zone, a pressure equalizer configured to maintain the pressure level of the receptacle at about the same pressure level as that of the intake air of the combustion zone, and a liquid delivery device configured to deliver the liquid to the vibration pump. The apparatus may further include an electronic control module and a mounting bracket or a docking station. The electronic control module may be used to control the vibration pump. The apparatus may further include a pressure sensor for sensing the pressure level of the intake air of the combustion zone so that the vibration pump can regulate the delivery rate of the liquid into the intake air as the aerosol based on the pressure level of the intake air. The vibration pump may be also configured to regulate the delivery rate of the liquid into the intake air as the aerosol, based on an actual fuel consumption rate in the combustion zone.
