A self-discharge inspection method for a power storage device having a property that while the power storage device is pressed under a first load and charged with a first device voltage, in which a device voltage decreases when a load is reduced from the first load, includes detecting the first device voltage of the power storage device pressed under the first load and charged, continuously applying a power-supply voltage equal to the first device voltage from an external power supply, detecting a power-supply current flowing to the power storage device, determining a self-discharge state of the power storage device based on the detected power-supply current, and reducing the load applied to the power storage device from the first load by a load reduction amount before the power-supply current stabilizes after start of the voltage continuously applying.

A method for inspecting self-discharge of a power storage device includes: a) continuously applying a continuous power-supply voltage to the power storage device that has been charged in advance from an external power supply to a first device voltage), the continuous power-supply voltage being higher than the first device voltage and having a constant magnitude; b) detecting a power-supply current flowing from the external power supply to the power storage device; and c) determining a self-discharge state of the power storage device based on the detected power-supply current.

A power storage device inspecting method of inspecting a power storage device for an internal short circuit that includes: detecting an external resistance Re which is generated in an external circuit in a state in which probes of an external power supply are connected to external terminals of the power storage device; applying an initial output voltage VS() with which an initial device current IB() of a device current IB(t) is zero; applying an output voltage VS(t) from the external power supply to the power storage device; and determining an internal short circuit of the power storage device based on a change with time of the device current IB(t) or a stabilized device current IBs of the power storage device.
