Stainblockers for nylon fibers

Heatset, textured (e.g. stuffer box textured), continuous filament, nylon carpet yarn useful for making textured carpets is disclosed. The yarn is made from nylon 66 copolymer. Textured carpets made from the yarns of the invention have improved aesthetics and/or appearance retention characteristics as compared to textured carpets made from nylon 66 carpet yarns.

Copolymeric yarns for textured carpets

Fibers having a substance incorporated therein to kill fleas are described. Fabrics (e.g. carpet and socks) containing these fibers are useful for ridding households and household pets of fleas.

Solution-spun antiflea fibers

Melt-spun filaments having a substance incorporated therein to kill fleas and staple length fibers made therefrom are described. Carpets containing these fibers are useful for ridding households and household pets of fleas.

Antiflea fibers

A blend of crimped trilobal carpet fibers, each having a modification ratio and denier within specified ranges are provided. Carpets made from the fiber blend have an excellent overall balance of firmness, cover and luster.

Carpet fiber blends

In producing nylon yarns having latent crimp by the process disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,202,854, the polymer throughput (i.e. extrusion rate) is increased without sacrificing the amount of uniformity of the bulk resulting from development of the latent crimp by adding a nucleating agent, such as calcium fluoride, to the nylon prior to extrusion.
