In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a first channel state information (CSI) for a first group of antennas of the UE and a second CSI for a second group of antennas of the UE, where the first group of antennas are different than the second group of antennas. Channel state information feedback for multiple antennas

Aspects for time bundling an SRS resource over a plurality of instances are disclosed. The apparatus may include a user equipment (UE). The user equipment may receive a configuration from a base station for time-bundling at least one sounding reference signal (SRS) resource. The time-bundling may be performed by the UE transmitting a plurality of SRS signals at different times using an identical center frequency and at least two different frequency resource allocations. The UE may transmit the plurality of SRS signals based on the configuration.

Sounding reference signal (SRS) time bundling for partial frequency sounding

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a UE may receive an indication of a set of sounding reference signal (SRS) parameters corresponding to a set of SRS resources for transmitting SRSs, where the set of SRS resources may refer to frequency, or time, or both. In some examples, the SRS parameters may include, among other examples, a frequency allocation, a frequency overlap parameter, a number of allocated symbols, a comb value, a cyclic shift, a comb offset, a frequency hopping parameter, a repetition parameter, a symbol grouping parameter, or any combination thereof. The UE may determine an SRS configuration for the one or more SRSs based on the set of SRS parameters and transmit the one or more SRSs based on the configuration. In some examples, the SRS configuration includes a configuration for SRS frequency hopping, or SRS repetition, or both.

Enhanced sounding reference signal resource configurations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A method for wireless communication may include receiving a single frequency networked composite reference signal (SFNed RS) at a first port of a user equipment (UE) and receiving a reference signal (RS) at a second port of the UE that is different than the first port of the UE. The method may also include performing channel estimation for at least one of the first port or the second port based at least in part on receiving the SFNed RS and the RS. A method for wireless communication may include transmitting a first portion of an SFNed RS from a first port of a first transmit/reception point to a UE and transmitting a downlink control information message to the UE that indicates at least one transmission configuration indicator state identifier that identifies the SFNed RS.

Consideration for demodulation reference signal and tracking reference signal quasi co-location relationship

Aspects of the disclosure relate to the use of enhanced downlink control information to communicate partial frequency sounding configuration to user equipment (UE). A UE may receive a partial frequency sounding configuration generated for the UE the downlink control information, transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) in one or more resources configured for SRS transmission in a bandwidth used by the UE, the one or more resources being identified by the partial frequency sounding configuration, and refrain from transmitting in a portion of a set of resources configured for SRS transmission in the bandwidth used by the UE. A format for the enhanced downlink control information may be based on standards defined the downlink control information formats.

Group common downlink control information enhancements for partial frequency sounding of multiple UEs

A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration signal indicating one or more reference signal resource sets, the one or more reference signal resource sets comprising at least a first subset of reference signal resources associated with a first reference signal switching configuration and a second subset of reference signal resources associated with a second reference signal switching configuration. The UE may receive a trigger signal activating at least the first reference signal switching configuration or the second reference signal switching configuration. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the trigger signal, reference signals according to the first subset of reference signal resources or second subset of reference signal resources.

Support of flexible sounding reference signal switching capability

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use cover coding for sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for performing antenna switching. The UE may receive a configuration for a reference signal resource set for transmitting a reference signal for antenna switching, the configuration including an indication of a type of time division cover coding for repetitions of the reference signal and an indication of a type of frequency hopping. The UE may determine a reference signal resource for transmission of the reference signal based on the configuration and the type of frequency hopping. The UE may then transmit a set of repetitions of the reference signal over the determined reference signal resource according to the type of time division cover coding.

Repetition and time domain cover code based sounding reference signal resources for antenna switching

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability message indicating a first number of one or more transmit antennas supported by the UE for antenna switching and a second number of ports supported for uplink transmission that exceeds the first number of one or more transmit antennas. The UE may receive, based on the capability message, a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration indicating a mapping between each SRS resource or SRS resource group and a respective bit sequence of a set of bit sequences. The UE may receive a control message comprising one or more bit sequences of the set of bit sequences indicating one or more SRS resources or an SRS resource group based on the mapping. The UE may transmit one or more SRS signals based on the control message.

Techniques for indicating sounding reference signal resources

A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE). The UE encodes a first uplink control information (UCI) payload of a first priority level to generate a first codeword. The UE modifies the first codeword based on a second UCI payload, wherein information about the second UCI payload is conveyed via a modification of the first codeword. The UE transmits an uplink channel comprising the first codeword and carrying information for the second UCI payload. A base station receives an uplink channel from the UE, comprising a first codeword for a first UCI payload having a first priority level and having a modification that conveys information for a second UCI payload having a second priority level. The base station decodes the second UCI payload based at least in part on the information conveyed based on the modification.

UCI multiplexing for different levels of reliability

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for transmitting sounding reference signal (SRS) resources with frequency hopping. In some implementations, a user equipment (UE) may use different SRS ports, different antenna ports, different numbers and sizes of SRS resources, different periodicities, different offsets, different transmission comb values, different number of symbols, different power control parameters, and/or different transmission comb offset values for SRS transmissions on different frequency subbands of the frequency hopping pattern to ensure that sounding operations cover all antennas of the UE, cover the entire frequency range of interest, and provide sufficiently dense SRS transmissions from which a base station can determine the best channel for DL transmissions while also using a minimum amount of SRS resources and consuming minimal power in the UE.

Sounding reference signal (SRS) enhancements

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration signal configuring a collection of reference signal transmissions. The UE may identify a resource overlap between the collection of reference signal transmissions and another resource that is unavailable for reference signal transmissions. The UE may identify one or more transmission properties for the collection of reference signal transmissions. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the one or more transmission properties and the resource overlap, whether to omit one or more of the reference signal transmissions of the collection of reference signal transmissions in the corresponding resource overlap or to delay transmission of the collection of reference signal transmissions. The UE may transmit at least a portion of the collection of reference signal transmissions based at least in part on the determining.

Reference signal transmission omission and postponing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration that indicates a reference group among multiple antenna groups of an antenna array associated with the UE. The UE may transmit an SRS using one or more antennas in the reference group. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a correlation report that indicates an inter-group correlation between the multiple antenna groups associated with the UE. The base station may estimate a channel matrix for the multiple antenna groups based at least in part on the inter-group correlation and measurements of the SRS that is transmitted using the one or more antennas in the reference group. Signaling user equipment antenna group preferences and antenna group correlation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first configuration of one or more channel state information reference signal resources and a second configuration of a channel state information report associated with the one or more channel state information reference signal resources. In some cases, the second configuration may include at least one of an indication of a codebook, a set of codebook restriction sets, and a configured bandwidth. The UE may then identify a mapping between one or more frequency-domain subbands of the configured bandwidth and each codebook restriction set of the set of codebook restriction sets, and transmit, to the base station, a report indicating one or more precoding matrix indicators from the codebook for each of the one or more frequency-domain subbands based on the mapping.

In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability message indicating support for at least a first demodulation mode or a second demodulation mode. The first demodulation mode may correspond to a single demodulation procedure associated with a set of antenna ports at the UE, and the second demodulation mode may correspond to multiple demodulation procedures, each procedure associated with a respective subset of antenna ports at the UE. In some cases, the UE may flexibly switch between demodulation modes. The UE may receive, from the base station, one or more downlink signals via one or more downlink beams based on the indication of the first demodulation mode or the second demodulation mode.
