A system in radio communication comprising a controller, a first device, and a second device is provided. The first device is associated with a first particular sector of a radio communication cell and the second device is associated with a second particular sector of the radio communication cell. The first device comprises a first sector indicating hardware and the second device comprises a second sector indicating hardware. The first and second sector indicating hardware each comprises a first visual sector information relating to the first particular sector such that the first visual sector information is visible to a human, and a first electronically readable sector information relating to the first particular sector. Each device comprises a first reading arrangement for reading the electronically readable sector information.

System, method and devices related to radio communication equipment

It is presented a filter apparatus comprising: a first frequency shifter arranged to accept an input signal of the apparatus; a first filter; a second frequency shifter; a second filter; and a third frequency shifter, the output of which is connected to the output of the apparatus. The first frequency shifter, the first filter, the second frequency shifter, the second filter and the third frequency shifter are serially connected; and each one of the first frequency shifter, second frequency shifter and third frequency shifter has separate shift input signals, respectively. A corresponding radio base station assembly and method are also presented.

Filter apparatus, multiplex device and associated method

According to one or more embodiments, a directional filter assembly () comprises a multi-port filter circuit () for combining or separating signals in specified pass-bands and an isolated port () having a resistive load (), for absorbing out-of-band signals. The assembly further includes a reflective protection device () configured to protect the resistive load () from being overpowered by out-of-band signal power, based on being configured to reflect or not reflect the out-of-band signals in dependence on the level of out-of-band signal power. In at least one embodiment, the directional filter assembly is configured as a microwave transmission assembly, such as is used for combining signals from two or more base stations, for transmission from a common antennae assembly.

A microwave transmission assembly comprising a combiner comprising first and second input ports and internal and external output a ports; the combiner being adapted to transfer a signal received at microwave frequency fat the first input port to the external output port and signals received at other frequencies to the internal output port; the combiner being further adapted to transfer a signal at a microwave frequency fat the second input port to the external output port and signals received at the other frequencies to the internal output port; a resistive load connected to the internal output port; and, a power dependent reflective load connected in series with the resistive load, the power dependent reflective load comprising a reactive element, the reactive element comprising an inductive component and a capacitive component and being adapted to resonate at a load frequency; the impedance of the capacitive component being adapted to drop when the incident microwave power received by the power dependent reflective load exceeds a power limit so switching the power dependent load from a low impedance state to a high impedance state.

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus () for a radio frequency component (), RF component, for use in antenna systems, wherein the RF component () is adapted to guide direct current, DC, power signals; control signals and RF signals, and wherein the RF component () is adapted to separate the DC power signals and the control signals from the RF signals. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises an impedance matching network interface () adapted to match at least one control signal of the separated control signals to at least one predetermined impedance value; and a DC and signalling controller () that is adapted to control, along DC paths, the DC power signals to at least a first port of the RF component (), and adapted to control, along signalling paths, the control signals to at least a second port of the RF component (), whereby the DC power signals and the control signals are controlled independently of each other. The present invention also relates to a radio frequency component that comprises an internal and/or an external interface used to connect the apparatus ().

Apparatuses and a method for controlling antenna systems in a telecommunications system

The invention presents a filter combiner, in particular for mobile communications applications, adapted to be connected to an antenna (), comprising a first directional coupler (), connected to at least one first filter (), to an antenna branch (), to at least one second filter (), and to a first signal branch (), the combiner also comprising a second directional coupler (), connected to the at least one first filter (), to a second signal branch (), and to the at least one second filter (). Further, the first directional coupler () is adapted to be connected to the first signal branch () via at least one third filter ().

In a cellular communications network, additional control signals comprising virtual base station identification data are distributed in the radio system from well defined locations by e.g. transmitters. Since there is a connection between each virtual base station identification data and the location from where it is transmitted, a mobile terminal can use the information for improving its position estimation according to conventional procedures. No modifications of the mobile terminals are therefore necessary. The mobile terminal is not able to connect to the communications system using the virtual base station identification data, since this data only is intended for position estimating purposes. In such a way, the devices for providing the additional information necessary for the improved position estimation can be made very simple and inexpensive.
