A bearing bushing incorporating a sleeve (1) of magnetizable material forming the sliding surface of the bearing, a shaft (2) mounted in said sleeve (1) and a lubricant in the form of a magnetic fluid (3) between the sliding surface of the sleeve (1) and the shaft (2), whereby the sleeve (1) is magnetized in axial direction. For causing a hydrodynamic lubrication and an increased cooling effect the sleeve (1) on the inner side has axial channels (7) and axial recesses (9) on the outer side thus that the magnetic fluid (3) by the axial magnetic field around the sleeve (1), can be given a circulating motion along the inner and outer side of the sleeve.

A sliding bearing which is mounted on a shaft (2) and is composed by a magnetized material, whereby between the sliding bearing (1) and a surrounding bearing housing (5) is provided a magnetic fluid as lubricating and sealing agent. The sliding bearing (1) has sliding shoes (3) adapted at rotation of the shaft (2) to cause a compression of the fluid volume and to urge fluid to pass out under the sliding shoes at the same time as the hydrostatic pressure increases in the spaces (4) between the sliding shoes (3).

Magnetic sliding bearing

A bearing bushing incorporating a sleeve (1) of magnetizable material forming the sliding surface of the bearing, a shaft (2) mounted in said sleeve (1) and a lubricant in the form of a magnetic fluid (3) between the sliding surface of the sleeve (1) and the shaft (2), whereby the sleeve (1) is magnetized in an axial direction. For causing a hydrodynamic lubrication and an increased cooling effect the sleeve (1) has a number of radial holes (4) through which the magnetic fluid (3) may pass to the other side of the sleeve (1), and which, by the axial magnetic field about the sleeve (1), is given a circulating motion along the inner and outer side of the sleeve.

A linearly operating motor for stepwise advance of a driven member (11), such as a shaft, comprises an elongated body (10) with length variable properties, and means (15) for changing the length of said body (10). The driven member (11) is provided with at least one locking member (12), whereby at length increase of said body (10) the locking member (12) is arranged, by means of said length increase, to be brought into engagement with said driven member (11) and said body (10) is adapted to act upon the locking member (12) in such a manner the locking member and the driven member (11) are displaced at length increase of the elongated body (10).

A device for attachment of a machine member to a shaft, whereby the machine member has an opening for said shaft. The opening has on one hand surface portions of a shape corresponding to the shape of the shaft, cylindrical or tapering, and on the other hand, surface portions having a shape corresponding to the shape of the clamping surfaces of a clamping sleeve, for allowing optional attachment of the machine member directly on the shaft or by means of the clamping sleeve.

A device for use in explosive welding of two overlapping tubular or annular elements (1, 2) by an explosive charge (3). The explosive charge (3) is located in the hold of the one element (1) in front of the overlapping portion of the other element (2). The elements (1, 2) are surrounded by an annular dolly comprising a plurality of segments (4) which are individually radially movable and associated with braking means. Each segment (4) is provided with a plurality of frictional surfaces (5, 6, 7, 8) which extend radially relative to the dolly and are adjustably forcable against opposed frictional surfaces on a supporting means (9), which bridges the dolly. A device according to the invention absorbs energy efficiently and can be re-used several times without requiring adjustment or replacement of parts incorporated therein.

A device for securing a first machine element to a second machine element comprising a clamping sleeve disposed between said machine elements having first and second opposed clamping surfaces forming opposing angles .alpha. and .beta. with the axis of said sleeve, one of the machine elements having complementary clamping surfaces confronting and engaging said first and second clamping surfaces, the angles (.alpha., .beta.) formed between the sleeve axis and said opposed clamping surfaces being smaller than the friction angle in each associated clamping contact whereby relative rotation of said sleeve and one of the machine elements produces a clamping action over substantially the entire length of said sleeve.

A clamping ring, intended to enclose and exert a clamping force against a cylindric element and incorporating a slot and a clamping means enclosing the slot, is provided with stepladder-shaped surface elements on each side of the slot, for making possible a compact design and favorable force absorption in the clamping means, whereby the clamping means is composed by several separate sections, enclosing one step each.

A bearing housing (3) encloses a bearing (2) for a shaft (1). The bearing is mounted on the shaft by a clamping sleeve (4) with a longitudinal slit and two flanges (5, 6) one on each side of the bearing. The flanges, which are axially fixed on the sleeve, are parts of mounting and dismounting means for a bearing. The bearing space is sealed by sealing members which surround the flanges and have lips (12, 13) contacting the outer surfaces of said flanges. Resilient sealing rings (10, 11) are arranged between the flanges and the inner ring of the bearing. The sealing arrangement allows the use of a slitted clamping sleeve and axial displacement of the bearing on the shaft (1) during mounting.

A freewheel device with freewheeling and locking effect in both directions of rotation can be produced easily and inexpensively by the use of conventional sprags designed for use in uni-directional freewheel devices. Two sets of sprags are provided between the inner and the outer raceway of the device, one for each direction of rotation. The sprags are spring loaded for taking positions in which they do not contact one raceway, and a cage which is braked during rotation is provided to be brought in rotation by the sprags and thereby influence the sprags against the spring force to taking a position in which they contact both raceways, the two sets of sprags being alternately engaged or disengaged depending on the direction or rotation of the device.

In a constant velocity joint having an inner and an outer part with opposite grooves in which are arranged rolling bodies guided by a retainer, the grooves and/or the rolling bodies are provided with a friction coefficient increasing surface layer in order to give reduced contact stresses between rolling bodies and retainer.

A clamping ring for use e.g. as a support around a jointing sleeve during explosion welding consists substantially of two preferably equal ring halves (1,2) connected to each other over slots (3) limited by flanges (4,5) comprising surfaces (6,7) which form an angle (.alpha.). The surfaces co-operate with opposing surfaces (10,11) on an annular clamping member (9) which enclosed the flanges. Means, e.g. screws (12), are provided for bringing about a wedging action by displacing of the clamping member in relation to the clamping ring, thereby varying the bore circumference of the clamping ring. The force uniting the clamping ring halves is completely taken up by the clamping member (9) and does not stress the screws (12).
