A rotating motor is provided which permits heat to be efficiently dissipated from all of the stator, rotor, and inner and outer races of bearings. This assures that the rotor exhibits a high intensity as it turns. Also, long bearing life is assured. A coolant enters a cooling passage formed in a first end bracket from entrance pipes and makes a half revolution, thus cooling a first one of the bearings. Also, the coolant cools the rotor via cooling disks and rotor disks. Then, the coolant flows into an outer surface-cooling passage in a motor housing and takes a zigzag course so as to make a substantially half revolution, thus cooling the stator. The coolant then flows into a cooling passage in a second end bracket and makes one revolution, thus cooling a second bearing. At the same time, the rotor is cooled via the cooling disks and rotor disks. Subsequently, the coolant enters another outer surface-cooling passage and makes a substantially half revolution, thus cooling the stator. The coolant then flows into another cooling passage in the aforementioned first end bracket and makes a substantially half revolution, thus cooling the first bearing again. Also, the rotor is cooled via the cooling disks and rotor disks.

A heat-pump device indicates a weight of inappropriate amount of refrigerant in a heat-pump cycle by comparing an actual amount of refrigerant in the heat-pump cycle with an appropriate amount thereof, operates in accordance with a refrigerant amount judging operational mode when the actual amount of refrigerant is measured, and includes a judging device for judging the amount of refrigerant in the heat-pump cycle on the basis of a temperature of refrigerant at a condensor side and at least one information showing an operational condition of the heat-pump cycle.

Refrigerator and method for indicating refrigerant amount

An air conditioner comprising a compressor, a four-way directional control valve, an outdoor heat exchanger, and a plurality of indoor heat exchangers, which are arranged to enable the cooling/heating combined operation. The air conditioner further comprises a first connecting pipe bypassed from a piping line, which is adapted to feed a compressed coolant from the compressor toward the outdoor heat exchanger, for line communication with at least one indoor unit, and a second connecting pipe bypassed from a piping line, which is adapted to feed the compressed refrigerant from the compressor toward at least one indoor heat exchanger, for line communication with the outdoor heat exchanger.

Air conditioner and operating method thereof

An air-conditioner system having a compressor, a plurality of heat exchangers for heating or cooling the air in a room, a radiator for transferring heat energy of refrigerant outside of the room, a plurality of orifices, a manifold with a main port and a plurality of sub-ports, flow direction control multi-port valves directing the flow of the refrigerant from the compressor to the main port and not from the main port to the compressor when at least one of the heat-exchangers is heating the room. The refrigerant does not flow from the compressor to the radiator when at least one of the heat exchangers is heating and none of the heat exchangers is cooling. Also, it does not flow from the compressor to the main port but flows instead from the compressor to the radiator and from the main port to the compressor when none of the heat exchangers is heating and at least one of the heat exchangers is cooling. The system also employs a plurality of valve pairs each of which having a first valve and second valve such that the first valve opens (closes) when the second valve closes (opens). The first valves are arranged for providing flow of refrigerant to the inlet of the compressor from the heat exchangers and the second valves provide flow of refrigerant from the outlet port of the compressor to the respective heat exchanger first ports via the sub-ports of the manifold.
