In one aspect, a base station (BS) may generate and transmit the control message to a user equipment (UE) to identify active radio link control (RLC) entities, a primary RLC entity, or other parameters relating to packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication-based communication. In this case, the UE may use the control message to select an RLC entity and may transmit protocol data units (PDUs) to the BS using a data radio bearer (DRB) and the selected RLC entity.

Aspects described herein relate to configuring and selecting preamble and payload occasions for performing two-step random access procedures. Configurations on preamble occasions, payload occasions, association pattern between the occasions and synchronization signal block (SSB) beams, and the rules for selecting preamble and payload occasions for random access message transmission can be determined by the network and signaled to user equipment (UE). Based on the configurations and rules, UE can measure the link level quality and select possible preamble and payload occasions for one or more SSB beams achieving a threshold signal quality. Sets of one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be further determined based on whether the preamble and payload occasion(s) can achieve a threshold transmission latency. The one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be used to transmit random access messages in the two-step random access procedure.

Techniques for configuring random access occasions in wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability report to a base station indicating a triggering offset. The base station may configure the UE with one or more channel state information (CSI) measurement resources and send downlink control information (DCI) that triggers an aperiodic CSI report for some of the CSI measurement resources. The UE may report CSI by measuring the CSI resources after the triggering offset. In some cases, CSI reporting related to the different codebook types (e. g., Type I, Type II) may be modified, where after identifying a type of codebook and determining which type of codebook to process (e. g., based on a number of CSI processing units), the UE may identify a priority associated with different CSI reports. The UE may be configured with various parameters that relax or modify the processing of Type II CSI reports.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate a report for one or more two-step random access channel (RACH) procedures between the UE and a base station (BS), wherein the RACH report includes at least one of an indication of a quantity of message A (MsgA) payloads transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures on each beam of one or more beams associated with the BS, an indication of one or more parameters associated with each MsgA communication transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures, or an indication of whether a respective signal strength for each beam, associated with the one or more two-step RACH procedures, satisfies a signal strength threshold. A wireless transmission device may determine a sequence of amplitude symbols from a sequence of information bits using a distribution matcher (DM) configured for probabilistic amplitude shaping. The device may further apply error correction coding to encode an information block corresponding to at least a portion of the sequence of amplitude symbols. And the device may generate a sequence of output symbols for transmission based on the encoded information block. The device may apply interleaving to one or more of the sequence of amplitude symbols, the information block, the encoded information block, or a combination of the sequence of amplitude symbols and the encoded information block, for the generating of the sequence of output symbols.

Wireless communications systems may support flexible waveform configuration for autonomous uplink transmissions. A base station may transmit broadcast signaling (e.g., a system information block (SIB)) indicating waveform configuration information for an autonomous uplink transmission by a user equipment (UE). In some cases, the broadcast signaling may include a waveform configuration field (WCF) that may indicate whether flexible waveforms for autonomous uplink are supported, may configure a waveform type, may indicate waveform configuration mapping rules, etc. As such, a UE may identify whether flexible waveform configuration for autonomous uplink is supported, and may determine waveform types for autonomous uplink transmissions based on waveform type configuration information from a base station (e.g., which may include an indication of whether flexible waveform configuration is supported, an indication of waveform type/scenario mapping rules, etc.), one or more LUTs, identified autonomous uplink scenarios, autonomous uplink transmission parameters, or some combination thereof.

The BS may provide an indication of a spatial relation for one or more sounding reference signals associated with a component carrier of the component carrier group. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a configurable mode for a response to random access message. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an indication from a base station (BS) that the BS operates according to a first mode in which the BS unicasts a RACH response during a two-step RACH procedure or a second mode in which the BS multicasts the RACH response. The RACH response includes a PDCCH and PDSCH. The UE sends a RACH message to the BS comprising a preamble and payload. The UE monitors and decodes the PDCCH of the RACH response based on the indicated first mode or second mode. The UE decodes the PDSCH of the RACH response and sends feedback to the BS based on the indicated first mode or second mode.
