A method for driving a bistable display device is provided. The bistable display device has a matrix of pixels arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns, a timing controller and a source driver. The timing controller is configured to sequentially output control signals which correspond to a positive high voltage, a negative high voltage and a ground voltage respectively to the source driver. The source driver is configured to drive each pixel with the voltages corresponding to the control signals. The method comprises: providing only the positive high voltage or the ground voltage to one of two pixels in two adjacent rows of the same column if the source driver provides the positive high voltage to the other one when the source driver consecutively drives the two pixels.

Method for driving bistable display device

A bistable display device comprises a substrate, a display film, a display circuit, an electromagnetic sensing layer, a shielding layer and a protection layer. The substrate has an upper surface and a lower surface. The display film is disposed on the upper surface of the substrate. The display circuit is formed on the upper surface of the substrate. The electromagnetic sensing layer is formed on the lower surface of the substrate. The shielding layer is disposed under the electromagnetic sensing layer. The protecting layer is disposed under the shielding layer.

Bistable display device

A bi-stable display, frame updating method and timing sequence controlling method thereof are disclosed. The frame updating method of the bi-stable display includes the steps of comparing a difference of source driver output voltages of adjacent frames of image updating period with a preset threshold, and determining parameter value of each transitional state of the adjacent frames when the difference equal or greater than the preset threshold for controlling level of source driver output voltage. Accordingly, the effects such as signal interference, reduction of image quality resulted from switching between high voltage levels directly and rapidly and excessive power consumption may be eliminated.

Bi-stable display, frame updating method and timing control method thereof

An exemplary driver circuit for bistable display device includes a plurality of pixel electrodes, a first power supply, a second power supply, a high-voltage gate control port selectively driven by the first power supply, a low-voltage gate control port selectively driven by the second power supply, a reference potential port, a first discharging circuit connecting the high-voltage gate control port to the ground, a second discharging circuit connecting the low-voltage gate control port to the ground, and a switch for deciding whether the reference potential port is electrically connected to a reference voltage source or not.
