A liquid discharge head includes a flow passage member, a sealing member, and an actuator member. The flow passage member is formed with individual flow passages each including a nozzle and a pressure chamber and the flow passage member has a surface on which the pressure chamber is open. The sealing member is arranged on the surface and seals the pressure chamber. The actuator member has a piezoelectric layer, a driving electrode, and a high electric potential portion. The piezoelectric layer is adhered to a first surface of the sealing member on a side opposite to the flow passage member, via a first adhesive having an insulating property. The driving electrode is arranged on a side opposite to the sealing member with respect to the piezoelectric layer at a position overlapped with the pressure chamber in a first direction orthogonal to the surface.

Liquid discharge head and method for manufacturing the same

A piezoelectric actuator includes a first electrode, a first piezoelectric body disposed at one side of the first electrode in a thickness direction of the first electrode, an individual electrode disposed at one side of the first piezoelectric body in the thickness direction, a second piezoelectric body disposed at one side of the individual electrode in the thickness direction, a second electrode disposed at one side of the second piezoelectric body in the thickness direction, a wiring that electrically connects to the individual electrode, a first contact, and a second contact. At the first and the second contacts, the first electrode and the second electrode electrically connect to each other. The first contact is disposed at one side of the individual electrode in a perpendicular direction perpendicular to the thickness direction. The second contact is disposed at the other side of the individual electrode in the perpendicular direction.

Piezoelectric actuator

A piezoelectric actuator includes: a vibration plate: a first piezoelectric body arranged on one side in a thickness direction of the vibration plate; a second piezoelectric body arranged on a side, of the first piezoelectric body, opposite to the vibration plate in the thickness direction; a first electrode arranged between the vibration plate and the first piezoelectric body; a second electrode arranged between the first and second piezoelectric bodies in the thickness direction, and overlapping with the first electrode in the thickness direction; and a third electrode arranged on a side, of the second piezoelectric body, opposite to the first piezoelectric body in the thickness direction, and overlapping with the second electrode in the thickness direction. The second piezoelectric body covers at least a part of a first end surface, of the first piezoelectric body, which is an end surface in a first direction orthogonal to the thickness direction.

Piezoelectric actuator and method for producing piezoelectric actuator

An actuator device includes: an actuator including piezoelectric elements arranged in a first direction and first contacts arranged in the first direction; a protector including a first wall opposed to the piezoelectric elements and a second wall coupled to the first wall and joined to a region of the actuator at which the first contacts are disposed; first connection terminals disposed on the first; and first through electrodes formed in the second wall to bring the first contacts and the first connection terminals into conduction with each other. A distance between two of the first through electrodes which respectively correspond to two of the piezoelectric elements which are adjacent to each other in the first direction is greater than a distance in the first direction between the two of the piezoelectric elements which are adjacent to each other in the first direction.

Actuator device and liquid ejection apparatus

There is provided a liquid jetting head including: a supply manifold configured to define a first circulation channel through which a liquid in the supply manifold circulates; descenders that communicate with the supply manifold, and which is configured to guide the liquid to nozzles, respectively; and a second circulation channel configured to guide the liquid not discharged from the nozzles to the supply manifold. The second circulation channel includes a return manifold that extends to communicate with the descenders, and a return channel that communicates with the return manifold and communicates with the supply manifold via a return port. A first end of the first circulation channel in the supply manifold is an outflow port and a second end of the first circulation channel in the supply manifold is an inflow port. In the supply manifold, the return port is closer to the outflow port than to the inflow port.

Liquid jetting head

There is provided a liquid jetting head including: a supply manifold configured to define a first circulation channel through which a liquid in the supply manifold circulates; descenders that communicate with the supply manifold, and which is configured to guide the liquid to nozzles, respectively; and a second circulation channel configured to guide the liquid not discharged from the nozzles to the supply manifold. The second circulation channel includes a return manifold that extends to communicate with the descenders, and a return channel that communicates with the return manifold and communicates with the supply manifold via a return port. A first end of the first circulation channel in the supply manifold is an outflow port and a second end of the first circulation channel in the supply manifold is an inflow port. In the supply manifold, the return port is closer to the inflow port than to the outflow port.

An actuator device includes: an actuator including first contacts arranged in a first direction; and a wire member including second contacts and joined to the actuator. The second contacts are arranged in the first direction and respectively connected to the first contacts. Each of particular contacts as the first contacts or the second contacts has a protruding and recessed portion including: at least two protrusions; and a recess between the at least two protrusions. The particular contacts include: at least one central-region contact disposed on a central region in the first direction; and at least one end-region contact disposed nearer to an end region than to the central region in the first direction. The protruding and recessed portion of each of the at least one central-region contact is different in shape from the protruding and recessed portion of each of the at least one end-region contact.

Method of manufacturing an actuator device

There is provided a device including: an actuator, a first flexible substrate and a second flexible substrate. The actuator includes a substrate; a first piezoelectric element and a second piezoelectric element that are formed on one surface of the substrate; a first contact connected to the first piezoelectric element; a second contact separated in a thickness direction of the substrate from the first contact and connected to the second piezoelectric element. The first flexible substrate is connected to the first contact; and the second flexible substrate is connected to the second contact.

Device including actuator

A liquid jetting apparatus comprises a flow passage member which has a pressure chamber communicated with a nozzle and a liquid supply port communicated with the pressure chamber; a piezoelectric element with which the flow passage member is provided so that the piezoelectric element is overlapped with the pressure chamber; a protective member which is arranged on the flow passage member so that the piezoelectric element is covered therewith; and a supply member which is formed with a supply flow passage communicated with the liquid supply port of the flow passage member and which is adhered to extend over the flow passage member and the protective member; wherein a layer of a first adhesive to adhere the protective member and the supply member is thicker than a layer of a second adhesive to adhere the flow passage member and the supply member.

Liquid jetting apparatus

A liquid ejection apparatus includes: channel rows each including individual channels; piezoelectric elements each constituted by an individual electrode, a common electrode, and a piezoelectric layer; and individual wires respectively extending from the individual electrodes to an outside connecting region, connectable to an external circuit board, and each having a contact connectable to an individual terminal of the external circuit board. A portion of each of the channel rows has an intra-row void between adjacent two of the individual channels. Each of the individual wires extends to a portion of the outside connecting region which corresponds to one of the individual channels. A first common wire extending from the common electrode and connectable to a common terminal of the external circuit board is provided at a portion of the outside connecting region which corresponds to the intra-row void.

Liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid jetting head includes: a nozzle plate having a nozzle surface in which nozzles are open; a channel member having a first surface and a second surface on an opposite side to the first surface, the nozzle plate being joined to the first surface, the channel member being formed with channels communicating with the nozzles respectively and a cavity being different from the channels, the channels including pressure chambers respectively; drive elements provided on the second surface of the channel member to correspond to the pressure chambers respectively, the drive elements having terminals led out to the second surface of the channel member; and a wiring member having wirings, the wirings being joined to the terminals respectively on the second surface of the channel member.

Liquid jetting head and ink-jet printer

A liquid ejection apparatus, including: first piezoelectric elements arranged on an element-disposed surface in a first direction; a protective cover covering the first piezoelectric elements and including a top wall portion and two side wall portions connected thereto; first wires drawn respectively from the first piezoelectric elements to an outside of the protective cover in a second direction parallel to the element-disposed surface and orthogonal to the first direction and extending on an outer surface of the top wall portion via an outer surface of a corresponding side wall portion; first terminals disposed on the outer surface of the top wall portion and connected respectively to the first wires; and a driver electrically connected to the first terminals, wherein a distance in the first direction between any adjacent two of the first wires on an outer surface of the protective cover is larger than that on the element-disposed surface.
