A bag-making device for cross base bags limits the number of quality defects resulting from the fabrication tolerances of the conveyor belt. The device has working stations that perform working steps on bag tube sections during the bag making operation. At least one working station is equipped with a tool that is mounted on a tool roller and that runs through its working position during each rotation of the roller. The bag-making device has a conveyor system that conveys the tube sections through the working stations with conveyor belts, and a drive system that drives conveyor drive wheels and the tool rollers such that the drive wheels are driven with lesser angular speed than the tool rollers.

Bag-making device

A bottomer for the production of sacks, preferably cross-bottom valve sacks, includes at least one glue unit that applies glue to the components of the sacks. The glue unit includes a nozzle bar, which has at least one nozzle for extruding glue onto the sack components. The glue unit also includes a counter support, which positions the sack components with a force against the nozzle bar.

Backing run for nozzle paste application

A device for placing a paper bag bottom produces score lines on the ends of tubular segments which are used for producing bags, applies glue layers to the folded bottoms on the extremities of the tubular segments and/or to sheets for gluing them with the bottoms with the aid of gluers and connects and glues the folded bottoms and the sheets. The device has at least one gluer which includes at least one glue reservoir or at least one glue duct, the glue contained in the reservoir or in the duct being exposed to a pressure higher than ambient pressure. The glue reservoir or the glue duct is provided with at least one output orifice for applying the glue to the sheets and/or to the folded bottoms.

Device for placing a paper bag bottom

A method for the attachment or introduction of valve or cover sheets, imprints, coatings and/or embossings in the correct position on or in components of tube pieces has several process steps. The steps include (a) recording of images of the components of several tube pieces with attached or introduced valve or cover sheets, imprints, coatings and/or embossings, (b) determining the positions of the valve or cover sheets, imprints, coatings and/or embossings relative to a reference point of the components of the tube pieces, (c) calculating the deviation of the determined position from the target position and (d) changing the positions of the valve or cover sheets and components of the tube pieces by a value that follows from the calculated deviation.

Position control on bottom layers with image processing

A paste unit for a bottom guide device for gluing bottom warps or star seal bottom bags, which are formed of tube sections, is introduced. The paste unit includes an interchangeable glue reservoir and glue source nozzle, a metering roller, a glue application roller, as well as a making roller. Drive mechanisms are assigned to the rollers. The glue is transferred to the printing roller by the glue application roller. The paste unit may be operated with the glue reservoir to provide a closed system that allows the glue to be applied evenly, and the metering to be adjusted at a very fine setting. Alternatively, with the glue source nozzle installed, the paste unit functions as an open system, which is beneficial for use with certain types of glue.

Paste unit for a bottom guide device

A paste unit and method of glue metering therein for a bottom guide device for star seal bottom bags, which are formed from tube sections, for gluing of bottom warps or star seal bottom bags. The paste unit includes a glue reservoir, a metering roller connected with the glue reservoir, a glue application roller which may be connected to the glue reservoir and a making roller connected to the glue application roller which transfers glue from the application roller to the bottom warps or the star seal bottoms. Drive mechanisms assigned to the above listed rollers enable the circumference speed of the glue application roller and of the making roller to be adjusted independently of one another.

Glue metering in a paste unit

For cleaning an adhesive applicator with driven adhesive rollers, which can be rotated around vertical axes and which together with a housing, which is positioned at these adhesive rollers and whose side edges rest or almost rest against the adhesive rollers, forms an adhesive chamber, the adhesive is removed first from the adhesive chamber, for example by opening a floor seal. Then wash water is introduced into the adhesive chamber. The wash water is displaced into turbulent flows by driving the adhesive rollers alternating in opposite directions to each other. The wash water is drained after a fixed cleaning period.
